Character name: Fox McCloud
Fandom: Star Fox
Timeline: Post Star Fox 64
Age: 18
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Fox is a naturally skilled fighter pilot with military academy level training. He also has experience driving tanks and submarines, the little bitch can pilot the shit out of things. He has passable hand to hand combat skills (In later games he's shown to be a pretty well established martial artist, but given the point in canon he's coming from it's safe to assume he hasn't fully developed these skills yet) and more than likely has at least some skill with guns and other such weapons, being a mercenary and all.

How would they use their abilities?: To do a barrel roll To earn money. That's about it.

Appearance: He's this humanoid looking red fox thing, usually seen in a green flight suit, with a light greyish tan jacket and a little red bandanna around his neck. He has green eyes and orangy-brownish fur with a white muzzle/inner ears/funky eyebrows/is that a mowhawk, and a puffy fox tail sticking out of the ass of his pants. His "canon" height is 5'8", but judging by his appearances in the Super Smash Brother's games, he's approximately somewhere between 3 1/2 and 4 feet tall since the human characters were a good deal taller than him, and since he'll be interacting with mostly human characters here that's probably the most accurate thing to go with. Plus his head's big and his body is kind of small in comparison. And his official height was established in like '92 or '93 anyway so who the fuck knows they could have changed it by now and not mentioned it.

Background/Personality:

Fox's mother died when he was still young, so he was raised by his father, James McCloud. James just happened to be a badass space pilot and leader of the Star Fox mercenary team. At the time, the team had three members; James McCloud, Peppy Hare, and Pigma Dengar, and they were pretty badass and famous throughout the Lylat system. Even big shot military generals asked them for help from time to time.

Even when he was still a kid, Fox displayed exceptional piloting skills and ended up joining the Cornerian flight academy, most likely intending on joining the Cornerian military as a pilot. While Fox was off having super fun happy times at the academy, James' Star Fox team was commissioned by General Pepper of the Cornerian army to check out some strange activity going on around the last planet of the Lylat system, planet Venom. Five years earlier, the mad-scientist Andross had been banished to Venom for being insane and power-hungry and evil and shit, and naturally it was bad news if he was up to no good. Upon arriving on planet Venom, Pigma betrayed the team because he's a greedy fuck and Andross offered his pig-ass a better reward or something. James and Peppy were captured by Andross, and while Peppy was able to escape and return to Corneria, James never made it out of Venom and is presumed dead.

When Peppy reached Corneria, he informed Fox of what had happened. Devastated by the news, Fox dropped out of the Academy in order to avenge his father's death. Peppy took Fox under his wing, and together they formed a new Star Fox team, and soon after recruited Slippy Toad, whom Fox had attended the academy with, and Falco Lombardi.

The new Star Fox team managed to make a good name for itself and became well known throughout the Lylat system. After a few years, Andross invaded the Lylat system yet again, and General Pepper once again called on the Star Fox team to investigate. Fox and his team fought their way across the galaxy, battling Andross' army and rival mercenary team Star Wolf along the way. Pigma, who had betrayed James' Star Fox team years before, was now a member of said rival team, and apparently had it in for Peppy since he'd chase the poor old rabbit bastard around in dog fights and all that good shit.

After one final showdown with Star Wolf (this game depends entirely on the route the player takes through the planets/levels so I'll just go with the cooler option since canonically it doesn't matter either way fffffff), Fox insisted upon fighting Andross alone since he wanted to avenge his father's death, and entered the base solo despite his team's protests. After dog fighting with a giant monkey head and then a fucking giant floating brain with flying eyeballs on laser leashes, Fox defeated Andross. BUT WAIT, Andross wasn't quite finished yet, deciding that if he was had lost, he was going to take Fox down with him. So he self destructed the entire base.

Fox would have been killed in the explosion, but the probably ghost of his father James magically showed up to lead Fox out of the base to safety. I'm taking Fox from right as Andross self destructed the base, but if I hadn't been then yeah. Ghost Dad. And Fox would have gone back to Corneria and turned down General Pepper's invitation to make Star Fox an official part of the military. And that's the end of the game.

Fox is a natural born leader, with a no-nonsense attitude during missions and when the situation calls for it, and a cocky, almost indifferent attitude when it's not serious business time. Given his age, he has his moments of immaturity just like the next teenager, and as such he sometimes has a tough time gaining the trust of his teammates. As a mercenary, he and his team offer up their services in exchange for money, but they aren't the sort to take jobs from shady customers.

Fox has a tendency to go above and beyond the call of duty to help people because he's just a nice guy like that. He values his teammates above anything else and has a fierce sense of loyalty. Typical 'heart of gold hero boy' stuff beneath a slightly rough, not entirely trusting exterior.

For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play:

Have you read up on how the game works?: The guide plug is is FlamingFerret, people can earn money by doing missions, doing freelance work, and mooching off of people that actually have money.

1st person sample:

[The feed starts up a bit shaky, the only thing in view for a few seconds is a shiny black nose until the guide is pulled away. Well what have we here, it looks like some kind of fox looking animal thing in what looks like some kind of red bandanna, and it looks pretty pissed off and confused. For those familiar with the hangar, check it out. There's the hangar in the background. Said pissed off fox is standing in front of a smallish blue and white fighter jet looking machine, and it's in pretty awful shape. It's missing a wing and it's hull is covered in scorch marks and dents, it's so depressing.

After a couple seconds, the fox looks a good deal less confused, as he seems to have realized that he got the Guide to operate correctly. His ears perk up and he begins speaking.]

To anyone receiving this transmission, my name is Fox McCloud. I don't know why I'm here, but I'm pretty certain that it's a mistake. My team's still out in space somewhere, but I can't get a hold of them. How do you send transmissions to locations outside of this space station? Are we even near the Lylat system?

[With an annoyed sigh, Fox scratches his ear and looks irritated as shit, and glances briefly over his shoulder at his ship.]

At the very least, is there anywhere I can buy supplies to repair a damaged aircraft?

[the feed ends abruptly THE END.]

3rd person sample:

In the blink of an eye, Fox had gone from fighting on planet Venom to standing in the middle of a crowded room, which he soon discovered was on a huge, unfamiliar space station. Needless to say, it was disorienting. Where the hell was his team? Why didn't Peppy, Slippy, or Falco arrive here with him? How could his team and his flagship simply vanish in an instant, much less the whole planet? Sure, that crazed scientist Andross had it out for the whole galaxy, but hadn't Fox just beaten him? Or had Fox gone down with Andross' base when he self destructed it? But then it wouldn't explain him being here.

And that wasn't the only thing bugging him. Fox's communication device hadn't worked since arriving on the Thor. He had no way to get in touch with his flagship, the Great Fox. No way to tell his team where he was or to find out where the hell they were. This "guide" or whatever he'd been given was apparently also used an a communication device of some sort. It was easy for him to figure out the basics, and it seemed like it had a lot of useful information on it, but it still wouldn't help him contact his team.

Needless to say, Fox was pretty pissed off, but nobody would answer any of his questions until he filled out the proper forms. Having gotten used to dealing with paperwork thanks to taking commissions from the Cornarian Army, Fox was no stranger to this sort of thing. He'd just never seen so much of it before, and given the circumstances, he hardly had the patience for it. When Fox had finally fought his way through that mountain of paperwork, the ugly alien...Vogon, or whatever it had called itself told him that his "little airplane or whatever" was in the hangar. That was it, no word on his team, no explanation as to why he was even here in the first place. Not without filling out more paperwork, and he wasn't about to do any more of that shit.

Considering he didn't have any real leads or explanations, he figured he'd at least check on the condition of his Arwing. With an irritated flick of his tail, he left the new arrival's office and set out to find the hangar. With any luck, it would at least be in a good enough condition to fly.
