So, hypothetically. Suppose someone kind of wants to ask someone else to prom, but they don't know if that someone else is even really interested in them or not. What would be the best course of action in a situation like that?

Oh, there was a, uh. Mix-up. I ended up going with someone else, but someone else liked her, and he wasn't too happy about it.
