In-Character Information
Name : Fox McCloud
Game/Series: Starfox
Canon Point: Post Starfox 64
Age & Grade Level: uuuuuuuuuh 18 / High School level Senior? Sure that sounds good.

Personality: Fox is a natural born leader, with a no-nonsense attitude during missions and when the situation calls for it, and a somewhat cocky, semi-stoic attitude when it's not serious business time. He's generally a nice guy, and pretty friendly. For the most part, he's good at staying calm and level headed under pressure, and given his line of work, he's under pressure rather often. Given his current age, he does have his moments of immaturity just like the next teenager, though they tend to be few and far between. As a direct result of his father's premature death, he was forced to mature before his time. This possibly left him emotionally or otherwise stunted, and most likely resulted in his semi-stick-in-the-muddish attitude.

As a mercenary, he offers up his services in exchange for money, but he isn't the sort to deliberately take jobs from shady customers. Fox has a tendency to go above and beyond the call of duty to help people because he's just a nice guy like that, even if he isn't likely to get paid for it. He values his teammates above anything else and has a fierce sense of loyalty to his friends and team.

~PERSONALITY ROUND TWO~: director's cut? 8|a

Fox & HORRIBLE PAST TRAUMA: Fox was very close to his father, James, especially having been raised solely by him. His death left a huge impact on Fox, grief hit him and it hit him hard. As a result, he dropped out of the Cornerian flight academy and basically shut himself off to the rest of the world for a while. It took some time, but thanks to Peppy's support, Fox was able to pull himself out of his depression and move on. While he hasn't completely gotten over losing his father, he's come to terms with it and uses it as motivation to become a stronger person.

When you suddenly become orphaned at a young age, you're kind of forced to grow up faster than you usually would. After shaking off his depression, Fox stepped up and jumped right into his dad's shoes, intent on rebuilding the Starfox team. Taking on an endeavor like that meant he'd have to put the whole teenager thing behind him, if he wanted to succeed. He carries himself more like a 30 year old man than an 18 year old almost-but-not-quite-there-yet boy becoming a man. Because of this, he doesn't always connect too well with his peers.

Fox & Friends: Out of everyone Fox interacts with, those that he's really close to are generally the only ones that see anything besides a "serious business time" attitude out of him. He jokes, argues, engages in horseplay, hell, he even smiles a lot more frequently. He has a fierce sense of loyalty to the people he's close to, his friends and teammates are more important to him than anything. He will do anything and everything in his power to protect them, or pull them out of a dangerous situation.

Even with close friends, he doesn't like to be too open about his feelings or emotions or anything, preferring to "suffer in silence", so to speak. Peppy's probably one of the very few people he's ever actually that open with, as he more or less views him as a father figure.

Fox & Enemies and general shit he doesn't like: Fox is perfectly capable of being civil to his enemies, even during combat. He's not much of a grudge holder (Unless your name happens to be Pigma), and he usually doesn't engage in trash talk. He's no merciless killer, but he won't hesitate to mow down anything in his path, so long as it's posing a direct threat to him or his team.

Fox has zero tolerance for traitors, and with good reason, considering what happened with his father being betrayed by a trusted teammate. Fox isn't the sort of person who is quick to anger, but betrayal is easily one of his triggers.

Fox & people in general: To people he's not familiar with, or just acquaintances with, or hell, basically anyone that's not a really close friend, Fox carries himself in a mature, respectable manner. He's polite and speaks clearly, and may even come across as downright boring in some situations. The more he gets to know someone, the more he'll open up and seem less like a constantly serious stick in the mud. It may take him a little while to really trust someone thanks to past experiences (aka traitor pig guy getting his dad killed), even if he seems to have warmed up to them.

Fox & chicks?: Fox is about as good with women as a one legged puppy is at football. It just doesn't happen. Should he find himself interested in some chick, he'd be likely to babble on like a doofus about I dunno, G-diffusers and other nonsensical dorkery and generally embarrass himself like a nerd.

Fox & ~motivation~: The motivation of any mercenary is pretty much the same: $money$. Money for food, supplies, repairs, upgrades, paying off debts, whathaveyou. Money is important and your ass won't get anywhere without it. For Fox, it goes deeper than just earning a fat reward at the end of a mission. He has a genuine desire to help people and often goes out of his way to do so regardless of whether or not a reward is involved, although he may complain that he's not being paid enough to do so. Fox is a good guy at heart, and, although he probably wouldn't say it, his desire to be someone that his father can be proud of is a big influence on the way he handles his work (hell, it's the reason he took over the "family business" in the first place), and the way he lives his life in general.

Fox & I dunno self esteem that's important right: Besides the occasional "am I being as good a leader as I can be", Fox doesn't have many problems with confidence. He's a good pilot, and he knows it. As a result, he's been known to get a bit cocky during battle, though he's good about not letting it interfere with the over all mission. He's not the sort that likes to brag, and if he did he'd be more likely to brag about his team as a whole rather than go on and on about himself anyway. So while he has a healthy ego, he's good about keeping it in check.

Backstory: Fox's mother died when he was still young, so he was raised by his father, James McCloud. James just happened to be a badass space pilot and leader of the Star Fox mercenary team. At the time, the team had three members; James McCloud, Peppy Hare, and Pigma Dengar, and they were pretty badass and famous throughout the Lylat system. Even big shot military generals asked them for help from time to time.

Even when he was still a kid, Fox displayed exceptional piloting skills and ended up joining the Cornerian flight academy, most likely intending on joining the Cornerian military as a pilot. While attending the academy, he met his BESTEST BEST BUDDY IN THE WHOLE WORLD, Bill Grey. While Fox was off having super fun happy times at the academy, James' Star Fox team was commissioned by General Pepper of the Cornerian army to check out some strange activity going on around the last planet of the Lylat system, planet Venom. Five years earlier, the mad-scientist Andross had been banished to Venom for being insane and power-hungry and evil and shit, and naturally it was bad news if he was up to no good. Upon arriving on planet Venom, Pigma started makin' trouble in my neighborhood betrayed the team because he's a greedy pigfucker and Andross offered his pig-ass a better reward or something. James and Peppy were captured by Andross, and while Peppy was able to escape and return to Corneria, James never made it out of Venom and is presumed dead.

When Peppy reached Corneria, he informed Fox of what had happened. Devastated by the news, Fox dropped out of the Academy. Peppy took Fox under his wing, and together they formed a new Star Fox team (Partly to avenge James, partly because Fox wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps, and probably mostly to pay off James' 80 year loan debt on the Great Fox. Thanks, dad), and soon after recruited Slippy Toad, whom Fox had attended the academy with, and Falco Lombardi, who is some asshole bird that also happens to be a badass hotshot pilot. And thus Team Badass Space Furries was reborn.

The new Star Fox team managed to make a good name for itself and became well known throughout the Lylat system. After a few years, Andross invaded the system yet again, and General Pepper once again called on the Star Fox team to investigate. Fox and his team fought their way across the Lylat system, battling Andross' army and rival mercenary team Starwolf along the way. Pigma, who had betrayed James' Star Fox team years before, was now a member of said rival team, and apparently had it in for Peppy considering he'd chase the poor old rabbit around in dog fights and all that good shit. He was still a fat, greedy pigfucker.

After finally reaching Venom, Starfox had one final showdown with Starwolf. Fox and his team emerged victorious, and now that Starwolf was out of the way, it was time to take on the big guy. Fox insisted upon fighting Andross alone, and entered the base solo despite his team's protests. After dog fighting with Andross' giant monkey head and then his fucking giant floating brain with flying eyeballs on laser leashes, Fox defeated him. BUT WAIT, Andross wasn't quite finished yet, deciding that if he was had lost, he was going to take Fox down with him. So he self destructed the entire base with the pilot still inside.

(IDK this ending was more interesting to me so I'm using it~) Fox would have been killed in the explosion, but the probably ghost (?) of his father James magically showed up to lead Fox out of the base to safety. Once he was out, Fox pretended that something totally fucking insane hadn't just happened and insisted that everything was fine when Peppy questioned about it. After all that fun shit, the team returned to Corneria, where General Pepper invited them to join the Cornerian army. Fox declined (And kind of cut Pepper off mid sentence like an asshole), stating that they preferred to do things their own way. (And then they ran off into the sunset and shit, it was very romantic manly and dramatic.)

Anyway.

With Andross defeated and the Lylat system safe from evil giant monkey brains for like, I dunno a month or so, Fox found himself with quite a bit of down time. While a few minor repairs were being done on the Great Fox, he took his arwing out for a spin since he was bored out of his mind. HOWEVER. Somehow during said flight, he managed to fly his ass into some kinda. Trans-dimensional wormhole or someshit. Before he realized that something was rather fucked up, he'd found that he'd crash landed in a tree in Final Destination City. It was very embarrassing.

Well, since he was here, he might as well explore the place and... go back to school or something.

Anything Else?:

-Fox is the grand master of Barrels and the Rolling thereof.

-Given his point in canon, he's not quite there yet as a pilot (though he is still above average) and he hasn't developed his mad "suddenly I have a stick and use it to beat the shit out of dinosaurs" kung fu skills. What a loser. But hey, that's what Smash Academy's for, right?

-Dinosaurs are assholes.

-Fox doesn't really know all the details behind his father's death other than Pigma betrayed the original Starfox team to Andross. It's been implied that Wolf was involved but since it's not really confirmed, I'm gonna play it safe and say Fox is in the dark about it. It's a ~*Mystery*~

-I have another game's app over here if you're interested in scrolling through that at all. (imo the sample posts are better in that one because I wasn't half asleep and sick when I wrote them but hey w/e)

In-Character 1st person writing sample (journal):

The trip in was a little awkward, but I think I'm good now...

Hey, everybody. My name's Fox McCloud, I'm a new student here. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

With that out of the way, does anybody have any good advice for newbies? It's been a while since I was enrolled in the academy back on Corneria, so I'm a little... out of practice, so to speak.

Thanks in advance.

In-Character 3rd person writing post:

Since it seemed like Fox was going to be here for a while, he'd taken to exploring Smash Academy's campus. He wanted to get a feel for the place before starting classes, it was only a good idea to know the area. He'd wandered around aimlessly all morning, seemingly with no particular destination in mind. While he probably appeared more like some tourist lost in a strange city, he'd been making little mental notes of where particular places were, and an approximately how long it took to reach them. By the end of the week, there was a good chance he'd have the entire lay out memorized.

This was almost like being back in the Cornerian flight academy. Fox was so used to space travel, dog fighting, and the mercenary life in general that being back in a setting like this was going to take him some time to get used to again. It was almost relaxing, in a way, even though apparently the whole point of this school was to teach people to beat the shit out of other people. That was interesting, to say the least.

Oh well, the Cornerian flight academy had been pretty brutal from time to time as well. Not to mention he hadn't exactly made life easy for himself since he dropped out, with the whole saving the Lylat system and making dangerous enemies thing. This was nothing Fox couldn't handle.

...The idea of dealing with homework again didn't really appeal to him in the slightest, though.
