Summary: After Tohru wasn't in school, Yuu found out that he was hospitalized and came to visit him.
He really was a monster. Even at the very end, he couldn't serve his punishment. No, perhaps he wouldn't serve his punishment. He was supposed to die last night, and even now, he can't find a way to stop breathing.
It wasn't Yuu.
That was the conclusion he first arrived at and a thought that crossed his mind after he'd awoken this morning. But last night, in that situation, it didn't matter. Yuu or not, the words exchanged were true enough to merit the deed. He longed for absolution that Yuu couldn't quite deliver; in a way, the doppelganger was merely filling the role in his stead.
That was how he justified it to himself, and yet... In the glow of the moon during the darkest hour, he truly felt as though it was his friend. Perhaps he wanted to believe it; perhaps it was like a nightmare come true. It was horrifying, and because of that... It was punishment.
His chest rose and fell once more, and he cursed the fact that he still drew breath. He was a monster, unfit to live amongst humans. He was no different than those he judged, and no amount of repentance could save him.
The only way to save him was to erase him.
