[June 30th, After School]

Jun 30, 2009 21:44

[In the afternoon, on the main road back from Yasogami High, one may see a rather largish cop in a wardrobe that has a large array of purple up on a ladder.

Specifically, he is examining the now cordoned off area where the body of Konishi Saki was found. In spite of the height, he is busily scribbling things in a notebook. Bother?]

Huh--!?

[Right! It's... suspicious to be hanging around a crime scene, isn't it!? Damnit...]

Very well. It's troublesome, having a murder scene out in the open like this. We need even more security than usual.

[... Oh; he doesn't seem too angry. Maybe...]

Have they found anything out yet?

[No, he's quite deadpan.]

That's the problem, really. The things we know raise more questions. There aren't any signs of a struggle in the area, for one. The chance of Konishi-san having died here is surprisingly small. No fingerprints, either.

I'll confess, it's very strange.

You're saying... this isn't the real scene of the crime?

While it's difficult to say for certain, it's very much possible. [Grim nod.]

That's great. They're looking for answers in the wrong place.

If this is the wrong place, which is not a certainty, it's still vital to find out what makes it so.

And how are you supposed to decide that it's wrong?

Observation. What I'm doing now, in other words.

Unfortunately, I don't know. I apologize.
