The biggest small nation in the world?! (or maybe just the most big-headed..)

So, read in the paper this morning that Denmark has decided to claim the North Pole as our territory. Apparently there's some kind of ice bridge that links the North Pole with Greenland which of course is already part of the mighty Kingdom of Denmark and so it's only fair that we get the Pole, too. It appears that scientists are currently working on securing the evidence. Already, of course, the Danes have started some ridiculous diplomatic fight with Canada over an island (well, they say island, I say rock) off the coast of Greenland...until recently, this was quite good-natured...the countries took turns to plant their national flags and leave a bottle of local booze behind (yes really!) but now the conflict has escalated, we read, and will have to be settled by the international courts of justice.

Watch out, I say, the Vikings are back! And incidentally, this little viking is leaving tomorrow for...Canada!
