Tobey Maguire film could shoot in Kirkland hospital

Evergreen Healthcare in Kirkland is seeing stars this summer as location scouts consider their patient rooms and doctors' offices for "The Details," a dark comedy starring Spider-Man Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Ray Liotta and Laura Linney, set to film this month in Seattle.
"Can you just imagine being here visiting somebody and running down the hall and going, 'Is that who I think it was?'" said Sherry Grindeland, hospital spokeswoman and the first to get the call from the film crew in late spring.
In the movie, Maguire will play a young OB/GYN whose home is plagued by raccoons.
Location scouts have visited different areas of the hospital at least five or six times, seeing everything from patient rooms to operating tables.
"I've been in many more areas in this hospital since they started coming around," Grindeland said.
It's not a sure thing that Maguire and the gang will walk the halls of Evergreen. The hospital and crew are still in negotiations. But there's no doubt -- they're interested.
"It's so funny 'cause we gave a tour of part of our emergency department the other day and somebody heard me say 'film crew,' and they thought I had television people here and panicked," she said. "When they found out it was a film crew -- moviemaking -- the attitude changed and everybody was so excited."
We'll check in with Evergreen next week to see what they've heard from the production crew.
In other "Details" news, word is that filming could start this week in the Montlake neighborhood. Director Jacob Estes said last month that the crew might also shoot at scenic Kerry Park on Queen Anne and at popular eateries such as Ivar's Salmon House.
So keep an eye out. Spidey might make an appearance.
