Remember when
Looks like chutoy has decided to resurrect titfortat, that community for taking turns writing fiction (each successive post builds from the end of the previous post). Information here and here.
We had fun with this back in the days when wonderphil was around. If only he were back, and willing to post again.

The spacepod veered west, or rather, it veered in the direction its occupant decided should be west, given it was traveling in deep space, and had been for quite some time. The lonely pilot decided the one thing it wanted most was a cup of Earl Grey tea (the real kind, not the sort replicators churned out in chunky droves), and that there was just one place in the known universe to get it. There was a lot of unknown universe, of course, and infinite parallel and transverse and perhaps even obtuse universes, where monsters were hideous and people were pretty, but none of those were worth mentioning. No, there was just on place even worth a thought. And that place, of course, was
