The Anchor
Okay. So I'm out at the best dive bar in town with the other otolaryngology residents earlier this evening, drinking a few beers and laughing about our discussion (actually quite serious) regarding the likelihood that aliens exist. Not the foreign but human sort, but rather the extra-terrestrial kind. Yah. And then we talk about ourselves as we are outside and away from the hospital, and I think about the fact that I haven't been to a bar in ages, and how I used to do this a good deal more often; usually on a whim. About how fun it is to knock back a beer or seven and gab with the like- and unlike-minded folks I see every day. And that I don't really care, because I'd rather be home with my girls.
