I know a lot of other people (Shige fangirls mostly?) have been doing Shige's thing of watching 10 movies a month. So, now that I have time, I wanted to do it too~!
In order of viewing (personal rating):
X-men: First Class (4/5)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (3.5/5)
Bridesmaids (4/5)
Kung Fu Panda 2 (5/5)
Just Go With It (2.5/5)
Mr. Popper's Penguins (2/5)
Green Lantern (3/5)
Cars 2 (5/5)
I am Number 4 (2/5)
Bad Teacher (1/5)
Super 8 (4.5/5)
June was my first month of having had done this movie-watching mission as inspired by Shige. I just have never had the time before while I was in school to do it so this was my chance now. I kinda of tried to make it a point to watch these movies either at the theater or via dvd/blu-ray. At our local theaters, on Tuesday, you get free movie tickets which was the only way we managed to see so many at the theater. I was also able to see one extra movie because the movie theater gave us another set of free tickets.
I'm kind of looking forward to July and the movies that are coming out this month. I already know I'm set to watch GANTZ 2 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. As for the American major releases, I'm kinda looking forward to Zookeeper, Horrible Bosses, Winnie the Pooh, Captain America, and the Smurfs. The New York Asian Film Festival as well as other film festivals are also going on so I would like to also check out other lesser mainstream movies.
I wonder if watching concert dvds could be considered a movie. Because then I would totally like to add Arashi's latest dome dvd to the list once it arrives in the mail. I've kind of already given myself some guidelines in this whole mission of watching movies. But I'm sure I will tear them down once I get lazy, haha. Like, I know I don't count watching regular commercial cable channel movies like ones shown on USA, TNT, TBS, and whatnot because I know that the movies have been edited and cut for proper television viewing conditions. I wouldn't mind counting movies seen on the series of movie channels like HBO, Starz, and Encore as long as I catch it from the very beginning. I kind of would count downloaded movies maybe~ depending on how I feel about them. Also, obviously, I can't count movies that I've already seen so these movies have to be NEW to me. Ideally, I would like to see them in a theater cinema setting or on dvd or blu-ray through my television, not my laptop~ But I'll see~
I hope I can keep up the movie watching for July~
