 1. Cornwall - the stretch on the north coast between Padstow and Newquay is beautiful. Plymouth with its fantastic harbour, the Hoe, where Francis Drake played bowls before dealing with the Spanish Armada and the art galleries of St Ives are in day tripping distance. I grew up there and love it.
