I listened in
Yes I'm guilty of this
You should know this
I broke down and wrote you back
Before you had a chance to
Forget forgotten
I am moving past this giving notice
I have to go

She was the American Dream. Blonde, beautiful and a successful actress. So if she was so perfect, then why was she the one in tears? Why was she on the phone confronting her fiancée over an affair the tabloids reported him as having with the leading female actress in his new movie? Even worse, why wasn’t he denying it?

“I read it a couple of weeks ago, Yaten,” Mina spoke angrily, “in People magazine of all places.”
“And you believe it just because it’s People magazine?” he responded in a bored tone.
“When you were home last week I listened in on your phone call. I heard everything.”
“You were really eavesdropping on me?”
“Yes I’m guilty of this, but you are guilty of so much more. I’m leaving you, I just thought you should know this.”
“She doesn’t mean anything to me, not like you do.”
“So you admit to it?”
“It was a onetime thing, Mina. Did you get the package that I sent you? I bought you a gift.”
“I got it, Yaten, and the letter you put in there. It was hard for me to read, I broke down a few times in tears before I wrote you back. Before you had a chance to spin more lies, I wanted to make sure you knew how I felt.”
“Can’t we forget about this? Can’t you just forgive me again and we can move on?”
“Forget?” she laughed bitterly as angry tears fell down her cheeks. “It’s forgotten, Yaten. I’m moving on. I’m moving past this disaster of a relationship. Consider this me giving notice of the end of this relationship.”
“Mina,” Yaten drawled, “you’re overreacting. Let’s talk about this.”
“I have to go.”
A sharp click was heard in Yaten’s ear. He pulled the handset away from his ear as the dull sound of the dial tone came from the earpiece.
