30 Days of Posting: Day Four

Sep 11, 2013 00:26

Today was a typical day: three hours at the vet's (waiting, see vet, wait some more then wait some more). One cat tested, one cat admitted (foster cats, but still). Three hour nap, half an hour with psychiatrist (let's up the meds. Do let's!), and no time at all spent voting (NYC and it's goddamn punch machine like we're in the 70's). Okay so voting was atypical. Otherwise, your typical day in the life of a depressed cat person who'd rather be getting on with her life already instead of going to vets and doctors all the live long day when she's not curled in the fetal position.

*growl of frustration*

I have now seen two advance viewings for the fall season: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Ironside. Neither one impressed me at all. Both are typical fare with typical dialogue. Typical casting except for the POC leads (which, yay). I'll watch both because (I have nothing better to do) Sleepy Hollow is genre and I don't get enough of that anywhere (think Grimm - same feeling of being trapped on a set too), and Ironside because Blair Underwood is smoking. I'm tempted to say that Ironside is a poor man's Luther, but probably not fair to compare, and the "rogue cop gets things done his own way" storyline is nothing unique. Also, it will be interesting to see how the protag-in-a-wheelchair is handled, at the outset it's hard to tell. Someone more fluent in these matters will no doubt have more to say.
