Hawaii Five-O: truly the gayest show on earth right now. *Discuss*
The scene where Danny fixes Steve's tie? ACK so married. The things they would do for each other... the two of them making a united front to get custody of Grace so she has two dads instead of a mom... how they are always standing just a leetle too close? PLEASE so married.
Also BAMF Chin? That was the most ridiculous episode ever, but Chin got to be so totally badass and I loved it. Yes, it's too early for him to have a new romantic storyline, but I love that actress, so I was just sort of taken with her cute, and wouldn't be bummed if she showed up later this season.
Totally gay in another way, i.e. LGBT, i.e. cutting edge sexuality... Lost Girl. *discuss*
I am THRILLED they are going with the lesbian couple this season as the main romantic pairing. FINALLY Dr Lauren gets her day. Sure, she's not the most likeable character, but I kind of like her, and I thought that the Bo/Dyson storyline was definitely over. I love how, now that Dyson has his love for Bo restored, he is being kicked to the curb as Bo gets serious with Lauren. Like, they're in LOVE. I love this. We all know Bo would totally be okay with a threeple, but Dyson and Lauren would rather scratch each others' eyes out than share Bo or get sexy with each other, so.
I also love Vex and Kenzi having a makeup heart-to-heart. When he leaves, he gives her his best makeup brush. He is like her gay BFF and I hope we see him again. He was delightfully evil and now he's delightfully ambiguous.
Is Ripper Street really good or is it terribly undignified to enjoy it? *discuss*
The first ep of Ripper Street was sort of a nightmare of triggery material. A cut up prostitute, a naked autopsy, introduction of all the women on the show: yep, they are a Madam and a prostitute, respectively, and then there is drugging, raping and snuff films (the first of any kind of film whatsoever... it was a snuff film, didn't you know?) Yet I couldn't help but LIKE it. It was twisted and dark and Matthew MacFayden was compelling.
Other eps haven't disappointed either. I like it better than Copper because I like the boys' team better. In Copper, I don't really like the main guy or his pals (can't even remember their names), but I did come to love the main prostitute character (Franka Potente) and appreciated that one of the female characters was actually not a hooker. LOL. In Ripper Street, there *is* a non-hooker character -- the protagonist's wife. That's a whole other can of worms. Back in the day, women either had to be Madonnas or Whores, fo' real.
I'm blanking on every name right now, and that probably means I haven't eaten enough today.
Has anyone else seen "Amour" and want to discuss it?
