Okay, ugh ugh ugh. I am in my own personal hell and can't even post an entry. So this is my therapy for the day: post an entry. Try not to make it sound suicidal. Form complete sentences. Go on, you can do it ( Read more... )

It is! You will totally recharge, relax, have fun and get good sleep that will set you right up for a new charge at the Battlements of Employment.

Also, Stefan says that the whole switch-in-the-head thing is just a myth.

I'm not sure I'd take Stefan's word on anything, you know.

I feel that a change of scenery will invigorate me. I need to stop saying I can't possibly do this or that, and make it happen because travel makes me feel alive. It's not like I would ever PREFER to stay at the Ritz if you know what I mean.

I *did* once stay at the Ritz (won a raffle) and it wasn't really all that.

When I used to go on business trips, I would sit down with a copy of the local freebie paper the Yellow Pages, and the bus map, and scope out tours of second-hand bookstores, thrift shops, and yard sales, so I got to explore lots of obscure neighborhoods.

Of course the prevailing opinion is that I'm kind of whimsical in the brainpan.

I'm totally down with that method. I usually just pick one bus or subway line and ride all the way to the end and just walk around to see where regular people actually live. I especially love visiting hardware stores in foreign countries.

This trip is made of whimsy, actually. I love hardware stores, book stores, random bus and tube rides... hopefully I'll be off the beaten track a bit.
