I'm not sure I'd take Stefan's word on anything, you know.
I feel that a change of scenery will invigorate me. I need to stop saying I can't possibly do this or that, and make it happen because travel makes me feel alive. It's not like I would ever PREFER to stay at the Ritz if you know what I mean.
I *did* once stay at the Ritz (won a raffle) and it wasn't really all that.
When I used to go on business trips, I would sit down with a copy of the local freebie paper the Yellow Pages, and the bus map, and scope out tours of second-hand bookstores, thrift shops, and yard sales, so I got to explore lots of obscure neighborhoods.
Of course the prevailing opinion is that I'm kind of whimsical in the brainpan.
I'm totally down with that method. I usually just pick one bus or subway line and ride all the way to the end and just walk around to see where regular people actually live. I especially love visiting hardware stores in foreign countries.
Also, Stefan says that the whole switch-in-the-head thing is just a myth.
