today a ladybug sat on ivan and i knew things are on the up and up because i'm superstitious like that. i've got a collage of words and thoughts from the many who love me and whom i love back, a registration form for the hemingway conference, a hotel reservation to make, a grown-up dinner party and/or czech film festival with some colleagues to attend, a few county fair rides to go wild on, and a boy i don't mind just being there for, at least for now. i've got plans! and his bed to crawl into at the end of the day; even if things aren't how i'd rather them be, i think that's just how life is.
and now, due to an utter lack of sleep thanks to all this hemingway excitement, i ought to get researching!
