For Thou Art With Me (2/?)
"So how'd it go?" John asked Sarah when she appeared the next day with Cameron. "Another advanced A.I. bites the dust?"
"Terminated," Cameron confirmed, in that creepily even tone of hers. "Mission accomplished. This time."
Sarah just shook her head. "How were you and Savannah while we were gone?"
He shrugged. "Same as usual."
Sarah, keen as usual, nodded. "That bad, huh?"
John just looked at the floor.
"She come on to you again?" Cameron asked.
John looked at her, counted to ten silently. "I'm not having this conversation with you," he answered, although he knew he really meant that he didn't want to have the conversation in front of Sarah, and that his mother would know it.
"You should just sleep with her," Cameron said as she turned on the sink and began to wash the accumulated mass of the last three days' worth of John and Savannah's dirty dishes.
"No one asked you, thank you," John said. There was no way he could deal with having Savannah and Cameron on his back. Cameron said nothing more as she kept on washing the dishes.
Sarah said nothing as well, for which John was grateful.
