4th LJ Anniversary
Four years ago on this date, I created my LJ.

For four years, this LJ has been an integral part of my life. Some of you I've even known longer than that, whether from the time I was reading LJ before creating a journal of my own, from the time I spent at FF.net or the City of Angel boards, or offline in high school or college. (ladyphoenixmage still wins the award, though, since I've known her over half my life.) I love you all and I thank you sincerely for bringing me so much porn joy these last four years. Here's for another four and beyond, whether here on LJ or on some other vehicle.
I do plan on getting a Dreamwidth account at the end of the month. This promises to be a time of heavy turmoil for me in my personal life, though, so I'm not sure how I'm going to use it. If I have the time, I'd like to create a filter on LJ for mutually friended friends who haven't navigated over so I can still read flocked posts, then read everyone else from over there while crossposting. But I might be forced to stay put out of necessity.
I've been spending some time lately re-reading some of the great chaptered fics I've encountered during my time in fandom, so I'm going to use this space for recs. These are all at least moderately long, plotty, and fun, with healthy helpings of the will-to-power. Some are pulpish with occasional lapses into OOC-ness; others really are deathless prose. They all always reward a re-read for me, though, so I thought I'd share the list as part of the anniversary celebrations. A lot of these count as classics, or at least should, but it's possible that not everybody knows about all of them.

- Divine Interventions. BtVS. Dawn/Ethan. Okay, this one isn't actually a rec, since I wrote it. But I did just re-read it along with the others. It's amazing how plotty it is--how in the world did I manage that? Dawn teams up with Amy, Cordelia, and Ethan in order to protect Willow from a resurrected Rack and other enemies. Tag. Memories. - A Critic of Pure Reason. BtVS/Lotrips. Dom/Xander. Worlds collide when the actors for LotR get involved with Wolfram & Hart and Xander makes friends with Dom. Insane meta happens. Single Page.
- The Liberation of Katie Holmes. CW RPF. Kristen Bell/Jason Dohring. The subtitle is How Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring Saved The World From Crazy Scientologists. I think that says it all. Tag. First Part.
- Of the Chosen: The Twins. BtVS. Faith/Xander. Two twin Slayers joins the Scoobies. Plot happens. Tag. First Part.
- Grey Queen, White Knight. HP. Harry/Pansy. implied Harry/Pansy/Ginny. After Pansy rescues Harry, the two rethink the approach to fighting Voldemort. Table of Contents. First Part.
- Living History. BtVS. Faith/Xander (but technically gen). Time travelers from the future interact with the Scoobies. First Part @ FF.net. Memories for parts 39-70 on LJ.
- Water Hold Me Down. Sequel to Living History. Xander is sent to an alternate reality. Not complete. Memories. First Part.
- I Am What I Am. BtVS. Buffy/Faith/Xander. An elderly Xander travels back to season 3 and starts changing history. Tag. Memories. First Part. Commentary.
- Lover's Reciprocation. Buffy/Faith/Xander, Buffy/Faith/Xander/Cordelia. Mystical plot device leads to much sex. Xander feels guilty at first, but gets over it. Single Page.
- The Zeppo in Mind. Buffy/Faith/Xander, Faith/Cordelia/Xander. Xander gets stuck in Faith's mind. There are so many acafannish things I want to do with this fic, the way it navigates issues of gender and the het male gaze in femslash; this is probably my single favorite long fanfic. Tag. - Lilac City. Faith/Xander. A story of a recovering alcoholic Xander in self-exile discovering his worth and reconnecting with the Scoobies when vampires and a Slayer appear in Spokane. First Part.
- Double Vision. Faith/Xander. Introduction of Jenny Grimaldi! Single Page.
- Xander's Slayers. Faith/Xander. Sequel to Double Vision. More plot happens. Single Page.
