I have nothing to say about the absence of Donna tonight and, presumably, for the rest of the series. Anything I could say would simply belabor what should be perfectly obvious, I think. Let it rest with that for now I'll continue to watch the show anyway.

The absence I will speak about, however, is Vinick. Last season they presented us with a likeable, principled, intelligent, moderate Republican. We got to know and respect him. Where is that Vinick this season? His centrism so far this season has been presented only as a danger to the Santos campaign. The torn loyalties I experienced as a viewer last season (and what I really thought was one of its strong points) have completely been lost, replaced by a Dems good, Repubs bad mentality that is getting old fast. Am I watching the same show I was watching in last season's final episodes?
