1. Summer Glau [RPF]
2. Dawn Summers [BtVS]
3. Saffron [Firefly]
4. Valentine Wiggin [Ender's Game]
5. Gia Goodman [VMars]
6. Mary Lennox [The Secret Garden]
7. Nina Jarvis [4400]
8. Cally Henderson [BSG]
9. Vi [BtVS]
10. Kitty Pryde [X-Men]

1. Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Fighter, Diplomat, Scientist, Eye-Candy.? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?

Team Even: Dawn S., Valentine W., Mary L., Cally H., Kitty P. Dawn=Leader, Kitty=Fighter, Valentine=Diplomat, Cally=Eye Candy, which pretty much leaves Mary being the scientist. If I  could steal someone from Team Odd, it'd be Vi, who could take over the Fighter slot for Kitty so that Kitty could be the scientist.

Team Odd: Summer G., Saffron, Gia G., Nina J., Vi. Nina=Leader, Vi=Fighter, Saffron=Diplomat, Summer=Eye-Candy, which leaves Gia to be the scientist. If I could steal someone from Team Even it'd be Kitty to fill the Scientist slot.

Winner: Team Even.

2. Gender-swap 5, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?

Gia G., Cally H., and Kitty P. I think Kitty would acclimate herself the most quickly, in part because she has, having lived in the Marvel universe all her life, a higher threshold for WTF than the others. Cally, I think, would have the most difficulty.

3. Compare the matchups of 5/8 and 2/9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.)

Gia/Cally vs. Dawn/Vi

Which couple would be more compatible?

Well, Vi and Dawn have the advantage of existing within the same universe; Gia and Cally would have to deal with a lot more culture shock.

Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?

Again, Dawn/Vi.

4. Your team is 3, 4 & 6.
Saffron, Valentine W., and Mary L.

The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?

Saffron takes the social challenge, Val the mental challenge, and Mary the physical challenge.

5. 7 becomes 5's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?

Nina would become Gia's boss. Gia totally could crack under the pressure if Nina rode her as hard as we all know Nina can, but Nina's a good enough leader to know that putting pressure on Gia is a bad idea, and so Gia would end up being the person who got the coffee for all the rest of the NTAC agents.

6. 1 finds him/her/itself inserted into 9's continuity. As far as anyone other than 1 or 9 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 1 be presumed to have had in 9's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?

Summer shows up in Buffyverse continuity. Oh. I've imagined all the different ways that could work so many times. Summer could be a Slayer, of course, or else she could just be a normal ballerina or actress who gets caught up in different ways. And Tina Majorino could be the vampire with a soul that Summer falls in love. And Joss would be there as a Watcher or something, and we'd have Joss/Summer/Tina threesomes, all with vampire mythology.

7. 3 and 7 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?

That's Nina Jarvis and Saffron. OMG. The battle of wills as the two play each other and prevent themselves from being played would be enormous. I don't know what either of them really want if they had the chance to make wishes, though. Nina would know better than to go crazy with the power of the wish and would just let Saffron wish for simple, selfish things, I think.

8. 2 and 8 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 1. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 1 survive? How?

Dawn and Cally are brainwashed to kill Summer. Not the best arrangement for Summer--I think she could manage to survive if it was Gia and Mary coming after her, actually--but I think there are permutations which would much more be likely death than that one. But realistically? Summer's a goner.

9. 1, 6, 7 & 9 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?

Summer G., Mary L., Nina J., and Vi.

Vi uses her Slayer strength to carry in the Christmas tree and all the presents. Summer dresses up as Santa because she is an actress and because no one is quite willing to suggest to Nina that she do it. Nina does the planning, naturally. Mary brings the cheerfully infectious Christmas spirit.

10. 4 and 10 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?

Are you kidding? Val and Kitty would mesh immediately, and then apply their insane intelligence until they end up leaving tomorrow and getting back last week, using only forms of transportation invented before 1300 C.E.
