Whew. I just drove 1,832 miles from Denver to New Jersey and boy, are my ... everything tired. We had a giant-themed convoy: a giant Akita dog, a giant (for a cat) cat, a jeep and a 26-foot moving van/truck (
also giant). I believe that on Saturday I beat, by one state, my record for most states visited in a day (7: Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania).
Also in the "giant" theme: We ate at a Sonic, a Denny's, a Country Kitchen (basically a Denny's minus "Moons Over My Hammy"), a McDonald's and an Olive Garden, which is a freaking lot of food that I don't need again anytime soon. But thanks for your free refills, middle America. We didn't see much-it was a fast-as-you-can move, not a real roadtrip-but the
world's largest cross in Effingham, IL, was terrifying enough for one drive.
I managed to do that and have a fantastic Thanksgiving at Maggie & Kyle's. Truly excellent food all around, but highlights were definitely the brussels sprouts and gravy. Not together. Well, ish.
Also, Vampire Weekend! I bought tickets for Thursday's concert awhile back, and now am apathetic about seeing them. Anyone wanna go, or buy both off me? I think they were in the $30 range.
