A hero lies in you
Yesterday Nadia got laid off from the newspaper (the place I worked before April). This makes a grand total of eight people I would consider friends-and, oh, a round dozen including mere aquaintances-fired by that place. (The entire editorial department is, at any given time, only around 20-25 people.) Christ.
Makes me even happier that I got out of my own volition. The severance would have been nice, of course, but it makes what was an agonizing choice six months ago seem, in retrospect, incredibly obvious.
