You know, I only found out about this book through the emailed coupons that Borders sends me, and I was like, "Huh!".
The note about who he dedicated this to is interesting, because this honestly looks like Amy had something to do with this -- whether it be lost bet or sibling goading.
I was noticing it was woefully underpromoted myself. I'm guessing since it's so diverse from his usual oeuvre his agents/the publishing company/whoever don't want to build up for disappointment (especially since his last one was such a success).
Whenever I see squirrels (rather than rabbits!) I think of Amy. When Stephen had that bit with the taxidermy squirrel, I thought both of the stories "Paint it Black" and "Brick is Red" and Amy. Mostly Amy.
