I have actually updated my art site and my art site on MySpace!

If I managed to complete an art card this year or in the latter quarter of last year, it just got added (save for one I deemed not for my online portfolio) and is over at the gallery.

I like really, REALLY like the Among the Flowers one. Like... a ridiculous amount. The backgrounds are gorgeous! I love how all of them have that old school, almost vaudeville-esque quality to them as well as... hrm, how to put it? It's like the kind of artwork I've seen when I've been in Central America. There's a lot of really defined, dark lines as well as vibrant colors. Also, the faces are similar. I'm not sure what exactly it is though.

Anyway, incoherent comment is incoherent.

i just looked quickly through the gallery and was much struck by mary and child (lovely), green louise (though i didn't recognize the words behind her), a toast for you (the spikey wheel behind her reminded me of the wheels behind the dancing shivas i've seen), and the boy from bradford. i am a rock, i am an island. (a rock feels no pain.) very nice work!

ADDENDUM: The Green Louise is a combination of two things loved by my long lost twin sister imoldfashioned, Louise Brooks and Neutral Milk Hotel, particularly the song "Holland 1945" which Stephen plays on commercial breaks at his studio and which I was lucky enough to hear for myself when I went this past fall with imoldfashioned at my side!
