So we all went up to Carlsbad this Sunday to try our hands at spelunking. On our way we learn that it has been raining the past two days there, so we all get a lil worried. So we all depart form the visitors center all geared up and hike down to the cavern entrance. When we get there we get a lil worried because the cavern entrance is right alongside a usually dry creek. Only today, there is a sizable amount of water flowing, thus our cavern hole is becoming a mini waterfall. We all get to go in a lil bit anyways, but the guide decides it's a lil too dangerous for a commercial group. I try and reason with the entire group saying that if we were to get flooded in, there is a main chamber right after the first squeeze that we would all float in until the water level went down. Obviously my reasoning skills need a lil work because no one would take me up, although the guide ended up going to his boss after we all got back for permission to enter the cave himself. bastard. So, it was a failed spelunking trip, but we shall do ti again.
Oh ya, I go to Silver City this weekend. Biking and hanging out with my dad. Should be fun.
peace.
