[Thor hadn't expected the weather himself, while he should have, though he wasn't about to stop it. He'd felt this building for a long time now and it was finally happening, and although the hammer causing a storm wasn't something foreign to him, it still surprised him. The rain had started yesterday evening, and it had built and built. He knew it' ( Read more... )

[ Steve had always been a fan of the rain, as a kid, and as an adult -- and an artist at that -- he began to see the sort of.. romanticism a storm could bring to the day. As a child, he'd managed to sneak out once or twice, to play with Bucky and the others in the mud, although each time he was brought back inside rather quickly, though not before getting absolutely filthy. Now, he knew he could walk in the rain without care, and so he decided to.

He spotted Thor out of the corner of his eye at the park, and paused, frowning a little, before trotting over to stand in front of the Thunder God, one hand on his umbrella, the other in his pocket. ] Thor? You okay?

[Thor gives him a smile and a nod, then eyes his umbrella, raising a brow.] You realise you are holding a metal rod in a thunder storm, don't you? [He doesn't particularly want to see Steve get electrocuted. That, and he doesn't particularly like umbrellas.]

[ Steve glances up to it, and then grins at Thor, shrugging slightly. ] I'm good friends with a God who controls this kind of weather. I figured I'd take my chances. [ He does close it, though, and moves to take shelter under the tree with Thor, leaning against it though he still stands. ] It's beautiful.

[Thor snorts, shaking his head.] I cannot stop you being electrocuted if a bolt hits that, my friend. You are less likely to be hit while you are with me but... [He shakes his head again, and looks up when Steve says that, smiling a bit more genuinely. It's akin to being told he has a beautiful soul, Steve.] It is, for now. Humans tire of this weather fast, I have found.

Not me. I've always liked storms. They're fascinating.. and kind of romantic. [ He gives Thor a sheepish grin. ] We always used to try and play in the rain when we were kids, but Nan always put a stop to it.

[Steve, stop flirting. Thor smiles slightly, getting to his feet, looking around absently.] I am sure when it has been days, you will wish for sunshine and clear skies. [He gives him a light nudge.] That is because you were a sickly child, I am sure.

[ He doesn't mean to! Sometimes it just happens. He laughs a little, when Thor nudges him, reaching up to run a hand through his hair. ] Probably, although she fussed at the others just as bad. Mostly because we'd track mud into the house.. Bucky and I got clean up duty, once. [ A small pause. ] We still kept sneaking outside.

[Thor laughs a little, looking down to the hammer by his feet, and sighing softly after.] Sometimes, some rules have to be broken. [He'd keep sneaking out too, if he was Steve.] You should not stay out too long, Steve. You are already soaked through.

Nah, I'll be fine. I've always wanted to stay out in a rainstorm... never could do it until now. [ He glances over at Thor, then, pausing for a moment. ] Why'd you come out here?

Is this your first storm since you woke? [He looks to him as Steve glances over.] It is quieter outside in a storm. At home, everyone was worrying about having enough supplies in case the power stops. [By everyone he means Pepper, and he can't blame her for worrying a bit.] I wanted the peace to enjoy the storm, where complaints are not had.

It is. At least, the first one I've had the chance to really enjoy.. and you don't have to worry about complaints from me. We didn't get electricity until I was ten. [ He laughs a little, remembering. ] And we hardly used it at that, since it was still expensive for Nan.

I do not understand relying on something so heavily. It could go at any moment, and so few people here would know what to do. [He knows the ones who were here when the power was out before would be able to cope but if the power was gone, permanently, he's sure people would riot like they did from just a month without it.] I am glad you would not complain. I do not think many realise what a storm is to me.

[ Steve tilts his head to the side in curiosity, raising an eyebrow. ] What is it?

This? [He raises his hand as he absently gestures around them, looking up at it all with a frown.] It is the manifestation of my emotions. Not all storms are, but this one is.

[ That suddenly make it a little more personal, and Steve softens. ] I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude.

[Thor snorts and shakes his head.] It is alright. I did not cause this. She did. [He points to the hammer then gives him an honest, almost gentle look.] You would not be intruding even if I did create it, Steve.
