[ Sif is sorting through the racks of bikinis, making a distinct unapproving face. She doesn't like any of them and doesn't even see the point, really. ]

[Pepper is hesitant to approach any of the warriors while they look so angry, but maybe it won't be a bad idea.]

There are more practical swimsuits.

[ She turns to look at Pepper -- she's not angry at her, so she softens a little, her look turning a little more perplexed. ] I do not understand. If we are to wear clothes while swimming, should they not be clothes?

[Oh, good. Pepper begins trying to explain.]

Having a full outfit on makes swimming difficult. Fabric gets very heavy when it gets wet.

Then why wear anything at all? [ She really is perplexed by this, Pepper. ]

For many reasons.

[Modesty being the one Pepper most appreciates.]

They use fabrics that don't get heavy when wet to make swimsuits.

Then why not go naked? It is how it is done in Asgard.

That's just not how most humans think, Sif. Some modesty is appreciated.

You have nothing to be modest about, my friend! [ She laughs, and claps a hand on Pepper's shoulder, giving her a knowing grin. ] But I understand, now, I think. Still, I find it odd to wear so little when you are claiming to cover up.

[Give Pepper a moment to try to figure out if that is meant as a compliment or an insult.]

There is still some coverage with bikinis, but I do prefer one piece swimsuits for that very reason.

[ She meant it as a compliment! Pepper is a warrior in her own right, to Sif -- she's the only one who can get the Man of Iron to listen. ] But you have nothing to fear? You should wear something like... [ And she pulls a bright red bikini off the rack, holding it up to Pepper. ] This. You are a beautiful woman, Pepper. There is no shame in that.

An appropriate garment. To be honest, I am not sure what to wear. Mortal clothing and customs are still new to me. [ She starts going through the racks again, sighing a little. ]

[This she can work with. Pepper gestures to a corner of the store and nods.]

Anything on this side of the store is for swimming or beachwear. If you don't have any...qualms...you'll find something quickly, I imagine.

[sif]

[ She pauses, thinking a moment. ] It is true that I've no qualms. Still, one wishes to look attractive, even when wearing nothing, correct? Perhaps it is just a matter of finding what will look best on me.
