[Magnus is sat in his apartment, near the window, and he has as sullen a look on his face as he always has. It's just common for him to rarely smile, though this place has hardly given him cause to.]

Does anyone know if Aliunde has a police force? [He sighs faintly.] I'd prefer not to have to join another force but there's hardly any other job ( Read more... )

Not sure about the police force, but...

Nate makes a face, almost resembling a wince.] Are you trying to jinx us?

Maybe I am. It'd be interesting if I could.

...No it wouldn't!

Hey, sometimes you shouldn't doubt the power of words. [ Have a sheepish grin.]

I think it'd be pretty useful.

[He smirks faintly.] I doubt a lot of things but definitely not the power of words.

Hey, I thought you weren't gonna be a cop. [Darcy points at her device, and through it...Magnus.] Juggling, Magnus. Juggling is where it's at.

And are you seriously asking for weird stuff? Do I have to smack some sense into you?

It's about money right now, I'm afraid. Personal choice can't factor much into it. [He smiles just fractionally.] Juggling, of course. How could I forget?

You can try, although I can't imagine it'd do much good.

You could always work at the grocery store? That's about as un-cop-like as you can get. [Darcy teases gently.] How could you forget? I'm hurt, Magnus. Truly hurt.

[She laughs.] Not much for getting sense, huh?

Oh, yes, I'm going to work at a grocer's. That's definitely, like, the best job I could get. [He gives her a slightly playful look.] Well, you still owe me a stuffed animal.

[He shakes his head.] It hasn't worked in the past, I doubt it'll work now.

If there's no police, why not start your own practice! A private detective, perhaps? [Though Sherlock and John probably have that angle thoroughly covered.]

Oh, that's probably not a good idea. [He actually laughs, though only lightly.] I'm better as part of a team, too reckless to do things alone, apparently. A... friend of mine suggested I take up juggling. It might be my only option at this rate.

Partner up? I've found that just one person can do the trick, if they're the right person. [He smiles.] Though juggling is always a good second option. You any good?

Now that depends on who I'd be partnering up with. Two troublemakers makes for twice the trouble. [He shakes his head faintly.] Never learnt.

[Oh, it's the face twin. He's totally aware of just how similar they look, though he's decided they don't need to bring it to attention to it.]

It depends what you'd have in mind. After all, some things can be fun but I'd rather not have murderous statues around again.

[Well, he's not the only one who can be a bit mischievous. And, the best thing is, he's still sure magic isn't real and is willing to egg him on because of that.] Oh, come on, you can think bigger than that, can't you? That sort of shit is good but you're, like, the God of Mischief, aren't you?
