Why would you celebrate the fourth of July?

It's Independence Day for us Americans. A couple of hundred years ago we declared our independence from Britain.

Oh... yes. [That.] Well, I'm sure it must be a fun day for Americans.

I think it's a good thing for the people of Britain too. Kinda hard to keep an eye on things from across the ocean.

I wouldn't know, I don't rule the empire.

Well I'm not the president so that puts us on pretty even ground of knowing what it would be like being in charge of a country.
