[Seated on the roof of a building, not the Avengers Mansion, but somewhere in the city of Aliunde, Thor has a rather contemplative look on his face. He's been considering many things, recently, and he wonders just what impact anything they do here has on anything at home. Sif and Steve both claimed to have no memories of Aliunde when they went home ( Read more... )

[It's weird to hear her thoughts come out of Thor's mouth-- albeit worded a bit differently-- but her thoughts all the same. In her time here, she's grown closer to Thor, met and became close friends with Loki. She's made new friends she never would have made otherwise. There are people here that she cares for deeply and would mourn the loss of. And the idea of going home and forgetting all of it, makes her want to cry. When she does think on what might happen, her getting taken or one of those important people in her life, she has to stop herself from panicking. It scares her. To leave this city with no memory of being considered family by Thor and Loki, never meeting Tony or Pepper or Kaylee or Charles or any of them, never getting to meet Magnus.... Her breath catches in her throat and her chest squeezes like a vice.]

If we leave and forget everything...then I don't want to leave.

[Thor has heard much the same come from Loki, and it doesn't surprise him that her feelings are this way. He understands, but he knows his place is in Asgard, and he does not have the luxury of remaining in Aliunde by choice.]

I understand. It would be... horrible to forget everything and not have what we have here.

I just...I can't lose you guys. I'd forget Loki completely. I can't do that. You guys are super-important to me.

I know, Darcy. You are important to us too. I just hope that we can find a way to control the pathways between Aliunde and our own worlds.

If people could come and go as they please.... [She wonders.] People could come back whenever they wanted but still be able to be back home.

[Darcy frowns a little. She worries that, if that were possible, people would get busy with their home lives and not be able to visit as often.]

It would be the best option for all of us. Creating some form of bridge between the worlds, so that we may return whenever we wish it. Perhaps like the Bifrost-- ah, the Einstein-Rosen Bridge as you call it.

The rainbow bridge? [Darcy chuckles softly.] That's be something, at least.

[He wrinkles his nose at her, even if she can't see it.] Yes, the Rainbow Bridge. It is a possibility, at least.

Wouldn't you have to go home first, to be able to get the bridge to connect here?

...No, I destroyed our Bifrost. It cannot be used. But the concept at least could be applied here. It is a pity we do not have our Tesseract anymore.

[Darcy sighs, thinking that over. This was Jane's area of expertise.] What's a tesseract?

Ah, it is a cosmic cube. It is full of energy, power, it can create portals and could be used to get us home. It was lost from our people, long ago.

Lost? [She sighs again.] Damn it. It'd sure be helpful right about now.

Lost. Somewhere within Midgard, we believe. My father does not tell me much of it. [He nods a little bit.] It would be, but to get it here would mean it would have to pass the hands of the Head Doctor. In the wrong hands, it is very dangerous.

Most helpful things are. [Darcy huffs, pouting.] That really sucks.
