[ After his less than pleasant chat with the Head Doctor, Desmond threw the phone across the room and started making his way straight to the Assassin's Hideout. Especially since there had been a lovely present sitting outside his door. He really shouldn't be moving around, but he doesn't really care at the moment. His leg still hurts like hell,

[ He tosses a glance over to Fenris and nods before slowly sinking himself into a chair. He winces slightly, his entire body aching and yelling at him for moving so much. Like he cares. There's something more important going on. His grip on the backpack tightens as he turns his gaze to Fenris again. ]

You okay?

[milesawayfrom]

[ A shrug. ] I should be okay. It just hurts like hell.

[ Though she's on her usual pillow perch, Kaylee is almost unnaturally still. Her phone is clutched in one hand and she's looking at nothing in particular, even as Desmond limps closer. ]

[ Limping is the best way of putting it. He comes to stand in front of Kaylee, leaning on his uninjured leg. ]

[ She blinks a few times before glancing up at him. Even her voice is droopy. ] Heya Desmond ... [ Wait ... she take another, proper look at him. ] Desmond! What ... how?!

I just got banged up pretty bad. I'm not going to die. [ Kaylee, between Ezio and Kate he has enough mothering. Please no. ] You doing okay?

[Ezio doesn't give him a chance to slip away. He grips him by the shoulder, loosely, and steers him towards a back room. They have things to talk about and he needs to check on his descendant's wounds.]

[ It's a good thing that Ezio was the man he was looking for, huh? Desmond doesn't put up any resistance and turns where he's directed, moving to the backroom with the Mentor. He glances at a few of the recruits that are sitting in the hideout before glancing down. What the Head Doctor said comes to mind again and he frowns. Shit. He really has to look like the worst assassin ever. Here he is supposed to be the one they look up to, and he's walking around like he got hit by a god damn bus.

They reach the back room and he stands up straighter (or tries to at least) and grips onto his backpack a little tighter. ]

[Ezio doesn't see it the way Desmond does. He thinks his grandson is a worthy assassin. It is not about keeping yourself uninjured, it's about keeping everyone else that way, and Desmond did his best to do that. Certainly, there will be slip ups, but Desmond is still young and Ezio is proud of him regardless. He would says so, given the chance to.

Pushing the door shut, he puts his back against it, giving Desmond a look of concern.] I have the feeling you seek to speak with me as much as I do with you. What is on your mind, assassino?

Is it that obvious? [ Of course it is. Ezio's his family. Desmond sighs and shakes his head. ] Just stupid crap that the Doctor said. I'm pretty sure she's the closest thing this place has to Templars. [ Which he means. It's not meant to sound like a joke. He is dead serious about it.

But, admitting what he thinks about what she said is harder. He's not the kind of person to confess his feelings. It took Ezio beating him down last time to get it out. He glances away and frowns. Should he even really ask him? It seems sort of stupid to ask. He'll probably be called 'kid' or 'boy' because of it. Why is it even bothering him so much? Ezio and Altair had been doing it their entire lives. He's just started. It shouldn't bug him so damn much. ]

Am I really that much of a screw up? [ The question just comes out on it's own. He feels like he should have done better. Pushed harder. Saved more people. Not get as hurt as he did. Something to prove he's the assassin he feels he's become. ]

[ Desmond nods to her, shifting his backpack out of the way. ]

Hospitals are just going to make me lay on my ass. I can do that one on my own.

Yeah, I try to avoid hospitals as much as possible myself. Sorry for the hypocrisy.

[He doesn't need to know that she avoids them because she's terrified of them]

[ There's a shrug. Desmond recognizes him as the kid he got to safety, but isn't about to point that out just yet. ]

[ a pause, as he looks him over again. ]

[ Urk. Desmond glances to the side then back at Riku. The kid did pretty well with keeping up and weaving around the buildings. The Brotherhood could use more in their numbers. Especially after the bitch Doctor made herself known. It's completely dodging the question, but he answers with another one: ]
