Ranting? Oh boyyyy.
I guess I am in a rant/rage mode right now, and I need to get some things off my chest, so here it is.
The Philadelphia Flyers put just as much effort and play behind this series as the Blackhawks, but fell short. Someone does every year, it has to happen to someone. Now I know I'm not supposed to be sticking up for them being a Sabres fan and all, but you know what, I don't care. I am sick of the sheer hatred towards them at this point, especially by people here. Are you STILL holding a grudge from when they beat us in like 1975? Most of these people were not even born (including me) so how do we know? This was a series between Chicago and Philly, not us, and besides we can't even play Philly for a cup anymore, so who cares? Chicago won it anyway, so be happy with that.
I like Chicago, I do, nothing against them, they deserved to win, they did amazing and were a great team this year. Do I believe that the Flyers deserve to get crapped on because of bad blood or whatever? No. They are a group of athletes just like the Sabres, and I'm sure if the Sabres and Flyers teams met today, they would sit down and all have a nice talk about it, not hate on each other. I swear, professional sports turns grown adults into children with the way they act, and it is outrageous. Put some of that passion behind other things sometimes, geez.
I was for Chicago as the series went, but it was crazy how NO ONE seemed to want to root for the Flyers. That is just nuts, there are fans outside of Philly, there have to be. So, now we wait for Oct. for the season to start all over again. For now, I will just take the summer off from all this...haha. I miss the Sabres though. Besides, if there is a team out there to hate it would be the Boston Bruins...haha. Ok, I'm done.
