Adeline's thoughts: 花好月圆 (Beautiful Flowers, Full Moon)
This was Adele and Irwin’s second wedding reception. They had one just the night before, with an alfresco theme, for their friends. This second reception was mainly for their older family members and relatives and what a small world it was.
Just as we were warming up, we had two guests who came up to us to tell us that they remembered us, that Hui Bing and I played for their daughter’s wedding. They were excited and anticipated the performance for the night.
During the set, we received good responses from the crowd with some mouthing away to their favourite tunes. We also had a number of toddlers who stood in front of us, bobbing and bouncing to the tunes. At the end of it, we also had one cute little boy gesturing with his little hands in a rotating manner, disappointed that the music had ended. It really put smiles to our faces to see the little ones drawn to our music.

Gigging on an all-chinese repertoire was a first for both Hui Bing and myself and we really enjoyed ourselves. Not only was it a good opportunity to build up on our repertoire, we got to know the titles of some familiar songs (which we heard when we were younger) but never knew the title.
Congratulations to Adele and Irwin, thank you for engaging us to be a part of your special day. We would also like to say a huge thank you to the guests who were such a wonderful audience that evening.

We and our guests thoroughly enjoyed their performance, several of our guests were especially impressed by Huibing’s vocals. She did wonderful renditions of蔡琴 coupled with Adeline’s excellent co-ordination on the keyboard, they certainly brought out nostalgia in our guests.
Even though Irwin and I were too busy too really to sit down and savor their performance, we were glad that many of the guests enjoyed the music. We have already had some potential Mr-and-Mrs asking for your contacts.
Hopefully Irwin and I have a chance to sit down and慢慢细听your performance at the next wedding event we attend.
