Imelda’s thoughts: Angels Brought Me Here
When Hsin Yeow told me a couple who was getting married in April had requested for Christian performers to play at their wedding, I was really excited that he had thought of me. I’ve always believed singing to be a way of serving God, and this was especially so with weddings which represent the perpetuation of love and life. I knew that it was going to be such a blessing to share this time with a special couple like Julie and Lionel.
The Saturday that Julie and Lionel had chosen for their wedding day was the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. This weekend is important to Christians because we celebrate the death and rising of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is also even more special to me because I got married in the Easter weekend three years ago. I found out later that Lionel’s brother also got married in the Easter weekend two years ago! What a wonderful day it is to be married in the name of our Lord Jesus!
Julie was a real joy to meet in person, she literally bounced in front of me as we were setting up and I could tell instantly how she was feeling as her bright sparkly eyes and radiant smile said it all. She was absolutely glowing in happiness and love. Lionel looked a little nervous, but definitely excited, and so dashing in his crisp white suit. You know his funky shoes were the centre of attraction cause even Feri noticed them and pointed them out to me excitedly.
Feri and I had the privilege of sitting down with the other guests for lunch after our set. I could tell Feri really enjoyed the food and especially loved the mango pudding. This was a simple yet deeply happy celebration. What I will always remember is the sentence that Julie and Lionel had written at the end of their photo montage. It read “This is to our Family, one of God’s Greatest Gifts.”
Thanks Hsin Yeow for recommending us to Julie and Lionel!
To Julie and Lionel, it was a blessing to have played for you and your loved ones, may you have a wonderful, God-filled life together!
Hsin Yeow's thoughts: This Is The Day
A few weeks before her wedding, Julie panicked.
She had some issues with a vendor she engaged, and this led her to worry about other aspects of her wedding. To add on to her anxiety, she couldn't find someone to lead the worship segment.
I could sense Julie was worried, so I quickly assured her that the live music portion was taken care of. I had Imelda and Feri onboard, and they even wrote personal e-mails to Julie to reassure her.
A devout Christian, Julie replied, "So many sudden hiccups but I really thank God because He found me better “replacements”. I really look forward to meet all of you on my wedding day."
After the wedding day, I was very glad to receive Julie's glowing feedback. Kudos to Imelda and Feri, and thank you once again, Julie, for placing your trust in us. Congratulations, Julie and Lionel!

Compliments from Julie:
Hi Imelda & Feri & Hsin Yeow,
Thank u so much for leading us in worship during our holy matrimony. This was the most important segment for us and we truly appreciate your beautiful singing! A few of my non Christian friends, who had never been to a Christian wedding, told me the whole session was very beautiful and meaningful. They thought I was very privileged to have such beautiful singing during my wedding :-)
And my mum (Christian) is full of praise for the band too. She was even more surprised to have u guys later on at the banquet. She thought it was a great idea and some of my relatives commented that they enjoyed the wedding very much as it was their first banquet lunch and they thought lunch comes with live music ha ha…both our parents were very pleased that their friends enjoyed themselves. They are secretly very proud, so objective met!
It was a pity that we didn’t get to hear much during the banquet as we were so busy. My friends told me they enjoyed the performance very much. One guy actually asked if Imelda was attached….he was going who is that pretty girl singing?? Is she your friend?? I had to break his heart haha…
Once again thanks so much for being there! Thank God for providing us a way out when we couldn’t find another worship team. I must say, u guys are so much better haha…shhhhhh…
We enjoyed our wedding a lot. Thanks again and again!! God bless!!
Love,
Julie :-)
