Hsin Yeow's thoughts: 花好月圆夜 (Beautiful Night)
There's a Chinese saying called 双喜临门, which means "double happiness at your door". This was certainly the case for the wedding lunch reception I performed at on 28 Feb.
For the very first time in my performing career, I performed for not one, but two wedding couples. Yvonne and Zhen Cai are siblings, and although they were got engaged on separate dates, they chose to hold their wedding reception on the same day.
Zhen Cai and Chun Yan first got to know each other through Zhen Cai’s mum and Chun Yan’s auntie 3 years ago. As Chun Yan was in Hainan, China, they called each other almost every day to maintain the relationship. When Zhen Cai thanked Chun Yan for believing and trusting in him, the latter teared up almost immediately.
Yvonne and Tony's relationship was no less difficult to maintain. Theirs continued for a decade, and the going was tough because of the significant age gap between them. Nevertheless, love blossomed two years after they got to know each other, and they built their friendship (and appetitites) through many late suppers together after work. Yvonne, too, shed tears as she expressed her appreciation to her family for supporting her.
The guests' support and love for the couples were palpable as we sang songs of love. The couples chose a mix of English, Mandarin and Hokkien classics, and we had a lot of fun singing them. The audience responded with much applause.
Congratulations, Yvonne, Tony, Zhen Cai and Chun Yan! It was a privilege to perform at your wedding. Thank you so much!

It was great to have you performing for my family and friends that day. Engaging 'A Little Dream' was the first thing I had in mind when deciding for the lunch reception. Kudos for the great job done and affirming that I've made that right decision!
Also, there were full of great comments from many of the guests.(HeHe... A little Dream has gained popularity again.)
Lastly, thank you very much for your presence really made a difference to a simple and intimate lunch reception like ours.
