Imelda's thoughts: Rainbow Connection
I can’t speak Cantonese to save my life but I can most definitely understand it, especially when the long distance love story of Wileen and Jordy sounds just like a Hong Kong drama serial. What's even more unforgettable is that the two of them look just like the gorgeous stars you see at the “Golden Horse Awards Ceremony”! I’m not kidding, they’re both really gorgeous, and not just cause they’re dressed up for their wedding. Take a look at the picture we took together!
Wileen and Jordy have endured a courtship that spans the distance of Hong Kong and Singapore. Some of their friends and family members did not even have the chance to meet their prospective partners till the wedding celebrations. Their rainbow of love finally emerged bright and beautiful, connecting this lovely couple in marriage, with their family and friends from two countries coming together to testify of their love.
Jordy surprised his new bride with a romantic male version of “Loving You” that was most nicely done. Towards the end of the evening, Wileen’s brother also came on stage with everyone thinking that he was going to sing a song as well, only to shyly insist that he just wanted to say a few words to his beloved sister and her new husband.
Weddings are more than the celebration of the union of love between husband and wife, they also provide wonderful opportunities for people to reinforce kinship and friendship, radiating the connection that people have with one another, just like the beautiful colours of the rainbow. I'm sure I speak for Spencer and Selwyn as well when I say that the three of us also had a great connection and a truly enjoyable time playing at this wedding.
