Jo's thoughts: You're Still The One
Pearl and Andy's wedding was the first at which I've played at where the couple weren't newlyweds at all...but the second half of a celebration of the enduring romance between a husband and wife who had got married in Myanmar years before.
And it must be true that with practice comes perfection, because the 17 December celebration for Pearl and Andy went off with aplomb....the couple were gorgeous both in the traditional Burmese wedding photos they flashed to the audience, and the tux and gown in which they walked down the Singapore aisles, to the cheers of their international friends and family, also charmingly dressed in the black tie basics of various nationalities.
Pearl and Andy also picked out an elaborately tailored songlist of love songs special to them, comprising several classics such as Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You, which were presented by myself, Feri on guitar, and the lovely Ein Ein on keyboard....as well as a whole host of guest singers who are longtime friends of both the bride and groom, including Htike who did a duet of You're Still the One with me for Pearl and Andy's march in, as well as both lads and ladies who were extremely swoonworthy crooners, getting cheers and whistles from an enthusiastic crowd.
It was a real pleasure to have been part of this wedding and we wish the lovely Pearl and Andy more wonderful years and perhaps even another wedding celebration ahead!
