Hsin Yeow's thoughts: Full Speed Ahead
The year 2009 is off to a rollicking start as Bevlyn gears up for her second album (her first full-length one, depending on which way you look at it), under the record label
S2S.
All I can get out of Bevlyn is that she's busy preparing and recording for it now. Watch this space for more news on upcoming album tracks and release date.
On 3 Feb, Bevlyn held an
outdoor concert at the
Esplanade Outdoor Theatre as part of the annual
Hua Yi Festival.
Official blurb below:
"Join talented, trilingual local singer-songwriter Bevlyn Khoo as she delivers her brand of intoxicating music, with songs from her upcoming album and debut EP as well as a concoction of jazzed-up Chinese New Year songs! Also featuring
James Yeo on piano,
Shawn Kok on percussion,
Wah Yong on double-bass and
Lim Hui on violin."
Check out beautiful photos of the concert
here, and a fan's review
here!
BTW, she's the voice behind one of the theme songs for the hugely successful TV series
The Little Nyonya 《小娘惹》---
保温 (Keep Warm). Like the song? Leave a comment and let her know!
After 1 year of hard work to put together 5 self-written songs and 1 French Cover La Vie En Rose (as heard on our
website), I am proud and happy to say that the album is now available for sale at all
Gramophone and
Sembawang Music record stores.
The songs can be previewed
here (as like those tester machines in CD shops), so if you like what you hear, I hope you can grab a copy of the album and contribute to my music-making fund so I can continue to make more music!
