Clarence's thoughts: Just The Two Of Us

It seemed like deja vu when I stepped into the cavernous Chijmes Hall; I was performing at the exact place a week ago for Shawn and Karen.

When I saw Juliet waiting for me, I broke into a huge grin. I've always enjoyed performing with her, and this time was no different. I loved her jazzy take on the Jason Mraz hit I'm Yours. The acoustics were great and resounding. In my interaction with Glendon, I found him to be sincere, down to earth and approachable.

I was happy to note that the guests were very responsive, especially the first few tables, who really enjoyed the oldies and jazz numbers. They clapped enthusiastically, and even sang along with us.

One funny incident: my capo broke into pieces as I fitted it on to my guitar during the set, but thankfully Juliet and I readjusted after quick thinking and co-ordination, so the show went on without a hiccup. Thank goodness!

After we sang our final song for the evening, some close relatives, mainly the uncles at the first table, decided to perform a tune or two together using my guitar. The impromptu performance was great fun; it ended up as an a capella chorus with everyone merrily singing along!

Before we left, three young "supporters" (2 gals and a boy) came up to take photographs with us with their professional DSLR. We even exchanged contacts. They were very sincere and encouraging, and it was a great way to end our night! =)

Congratulations Glendon and Rebecca! Thanks for engaging us to liven up the night!
