Serene's thoughts: From This Moment
The unique ballroom at the Grand Plaza City Hall catered for a memorable march-in at the banquet of Desmond and Ivy. Friends and family of the couple had a pleasant surprise when they rose and looked towards the back of the ballroom, waiting to catch of glimpse of the couple's entrance, only to find the couple appearing from the left and right door of the ballroom respectively to Shania Twain's "From This Moment", blissfully walking towards each other, and then walking down the isle together when they finally met at the centre of the ballroom. Bubbles filled the air creating a really magical feel in the ballroom and it was a beautiful sight.
The traditional "接新娘'' customaries never fail to intrigue me at any wedding. For Desmond and Ivy, wedding guests enjoyed thoroughly the montage that showed the morning's events. From deceptive looking mini pizzas (colourful but with all the wrong ingredients such as wasabi and chilli) to really cute customised underwear which the groom and his brothers had to wear over their pants, to signing a document that promised the world to the bride (including a honeymoon every year, doing the dishes and laundry, and something along the lines of all his money will be her money..etc). Many challenges and a whole wad of cash later, we saw a relieved Desmond (he was really perspiring by then) finally being able to enter the house and into the arms of his beautiful bride. The measures of how much a man loves his wife…and it was wonderful to see Desmond coming together with his brothers to overcome all.
The couple's speech was the other highlight of the evening. Desmond spoke on behalf of the really sweet couple, and mentioned that his speech was really simple and was afraid he would miss out anyone. Funnily when he thanked one group of people, various tables started to vie for his attention, shouting out to him on stage for him to mention them, causing everyone in the ballroom to breakout into laughter.
We would like to thank Desmond and Ivy, and their wonderful guests for appreciating our presence. It was a pleasure to be a part of your special day. Last but not the least, our congratulations and best wishes to you both, and may your days be filled with bliss and eternal love.
