Hui Bing's thoughts: Just The Way You Are
Keong and Shan's wedding and solemnisation was simple, no-frills, yet heart warming and fulfilling. The couple had decided to do away with the usual gown and coat/tie ensemble. Keong was dressed casually in a white shirt (no tie) while Shan looked gorgeous in a classy short white dress. Guests mingled freely on the second floor of One Rochester while enjoying the food and lush greenery from the verandah. Children amused themselves by watching cartoons on a big projector screen in the corner of the room. The whole atmosphere reminded me of a cosy and warm family gathering, with lots of laughter, smiles and hugs.
The couple gave us free rein to the songs that we can perform, so we chose a mixture of jazz and easy-listening love ballads. We also performed a Chinese song as there were requests for Cantonese songs (sorry, still hard at work at perfecting the Cantonese pronunications!). I was glad to see one of the female guests mouthing the lyrics of this classic oldie with me.
Congratulations, Shan and Keong! Shan - thanks very much for your compliments on our performance and we wish you and Keong every best in the new year ahead.
