Bevlyn's thoughts: 你是我最深爱的人 (You're The Person I Love The Most)

Kelvin is my ex-classmate for 4 straight years, 2 in primary school and 2 in our secondary school. We lost touch for a bit after secondary school, but we always had a very good time playing tug-of-war with words whenever we meet. I guess that's what true friends are like - the ability to stand the test of time. So when he told me his wife and him are keen to have A Little Dream perform at his wedding, I was thrilled to bits.

Incidentally, I had already promised another good friend to attend his wedding at Raffles Hotel, so I had to rush off halfway to attend Kelvin's. I was relieved I managed to catch his speech, because that was really impressive.

Boy, what a speech. He recounted how he had convinced himself to sign up with Match.com, and the $38 registration fee was probably the best investment so far, for it earned him the woman he loves the most.

Joanne was every bit as humourous as Kelvin - she recounted how eager she was to reply to Kelvin's message when she first saw his photo, because he is so handsome! The only thought that lingered at the back of her mind was if he was Malay because of his ethnic feature. Fast forward to their first date - Joanne saw Kelvin carried a plastic bag and asked him if the present was for her. To that Kelvin said it's a windbreaker, because he was afraid she might be cold in the cinema hall later when they catch a movie. Trust me, the awwwwwww that followed was deafening.

Kelvin had wanted to sing 你是我最深爱的人 (You're The Person I Love The Most) to Joanne after the speech, but he came down the stage and told the band to can the song because he had a sore throat from eating chilli in the morning. I was mad and told him he couldn't miss this once in a lifetime experience of serenading his wife, which he had very much wanted initially. That smacked him out of whatever excuses he had, "You're right", he said, and he gamely sang the song. Halfway through, he went over and led Joanne from her seat to the stage. Naturally, the applause and cheers that followed were deafening too.

Here's wishing you a very blissful marriage ahead my dear friend!

Endless Love, I Finally Found Someone, The Gift, Quando Quando Quando, L-O-V-E, The Way You Look Tonight, Sway, 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart), 給一個吻 (Give Me A Kiss), 爱你在心口难开 (Love You More Than I Can Say), When You Tell Me That You Love Me, 我要你的爱 (I Want Your Love)

Couple's Compliments:

First of all, there was no doubt that the band put up a very good performance... I didn't really have the chance to hear all songs (my mind was preoccupied with other things) but I enjoyed whatever I heard. From the guests' applause, you could also tell they enjoyed too.

Furthermore, engaging the band was fuss free... nothing much to do on my side except to give you the list of songs. ZQ, Ein Ein and Boon Chye were easy to work with too. Felt comfortable and 'safe' when rehearsing for my secret performance.

Here's wishing you many more band engagements this year. I will definitely recommend your band :)

Wedding Tip:

- Don't chicken out of singing for your wife if you had already planned to do so; it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
