Bevlyn's thoughts: A Walk To Remember

If you're are unfamiliar with the Singaporean-style toasting sessions, they go like this: each toast is marked by an enthusiastic and prolonged cheer of yum seng, a Cantonese phrase meaning "drink plenty".
As the host for Daniel and Cynthia's wedding, it was my responsibility to encourage all guests to participate in the toasting ceremony, and make as much noise as possible.
Quite a few joined in for the first two toasts, but I felt that the guests were waiting for the last one to give it their all.
To further rouse the guests, I said, "For this last toast, the longer and louder you cheer, the more children they'd have!"
That really rallied the crowd, including Daniel and Cynthia's family and friends who were onstage. They stepped up to the fore and blasted into the microphone, "YUUUUUUMMMMMM SSEEEENNNG!" It was so loud I was afraid the microphone would explode!
Daniel and Cynthia, you heard them. Now get busy. :-)
Have to say that I was very impressed by the service at the Crown Hotel (now known as Park Hotel. In particular, the captain and operating managers were very friendly and helpful, and carried out their work efficiently.
An example: as external food was not allowed in the ballroom, Cynthia and Daniel ordered Swensen's sandwiches for the band before our performance. *Yum!*
A small table was quickly set up, and the operating managers came over a few times over the course of our dinner to take orders for drinks or ask if we needed anything else. Thumbs up for the excellent service!
P.S. From my experience, the distance from the entrance to the stage in the Empress Ballroom is longer than most. It's perfect for couples who wish to use that time to soak in the atmosphere and greet their guests!

Repertoire:
When Daniel and Cynthia briefed me on my emcee duties, I found out that Daniel's family members didn't understand Mandarin, while Cynthia's family hardly spoke English.
That also explained the repertoire for the evening, which was an even mix of English and Mandarin pop numbers.
No complaints here; I was really happy to sing the Mandarin duets. It brought back a lot of fond memories of my days at The Ark Lounge, where the bulk of my repertoire comprised Mandarin songs.

We are both very glad and happy that A Little Dream made our wedding banquet a memorable one for many as your splendid singing and performance caught most of their attention. Hehehe, I will recommend your band to my fellow members in my car club... ;p
