This is ludicrous. I'm so glad I don't work in PR anymore because my loathing of the media grows daily.
1)
Sachs signed off on
the comments beforehand as it was pre-recorded.
2) Fire the editors/producers after the 'talent' has made the apology, considering the buck stops with them.
3) Of course Brand resigned, he most likely got an offer from Virgin/Capital/XFM/etc that far exceeded his BBC gig and was probably the drive-time slot or something. He didn't do it because he felt guilty. Sorry, guilty wilty.
4) You would think that maybe the newspapers and other media outlets raging at the BBC and inciting people to complain about what they never heard in the first place might possibly have an agenda, say, like making sure the BBC get less viewers and readers to their sites so maybe a few people flock to other newspapers and media outlets and they make more money. Just maybe. Little bit.
