Was talking to Mr. Pants yesterday, and he asked me when I was ever going to update this thing. I had no idea anyone was even still bothering to read it, due to my slothful updating habits, but since apparently at least one person is, here you go...
Work is good, promotion is good. When I can finally start school, that will also be good. I'm looking forward to finally getting to work on my long postponed grad work. (Just have to pass the GRE, so cross your fingers) Assuming I can afford to take it... $105 !!! I'm applying to grad school, I don't have that kind of money. Does anyone who is applying to grad school??? And that is assuming I do well on the math section the first time. So, we're looking at $210 before I apply...
Hebrew class is wonderful. Ronda is funny, and entertaining, and seems to help people relax by teaching like we're all goofy little kids, which normally drives me crazy, but for some reason doesn't bug me when she does it. Also, it helps that the language seems to be coming really naturally, and I love what I have learned so far. Of course, we are going an a crawling pace, so that might all change in a few weeks. But for now, it's also good.
Living in Olympia... not so good. I know there have to be more people here to hang out with, and who go out. I just haven't figured out how to meet them. I'm working on it, but so far, I'm striking out. And now that I am happily single again, my friends are all settling down with the kids and their spouse/live-in/significant other for cozy family weekends. My timing is definitely off... I wish there was some sort of adjustment you could make to that, like a little belt you can adjust like in a car. Also, working at a small catholic college isn't helping, if I see one more perky 20 year old married couple with a kid and a pregnant wife, I'm going to scream.
So, you know, tips are accepted guys, where's the entertainment in Oly-town? And I know you have been down here Jrad... and I know you have my cell number (or did..) so put the payphone at the bar to some use, ok?
In other news, the boy is moving to T-town, totally on a whim. It sucks, but maybe that's best.
I promise I'll try to update more. And the plan for this weekend still includes seeing you, mr. pants. In fact, just conferred with the boss, Portland on Sunday it is... See you then.
