OH GOD OURAN FINISHED, I WAS REALLY WORRIED AFTER EPISODE 25!! Because HOW can they resolve ALL THAT in one episode?! HOW?! But with their usual talent, the writers pulled through completely, making that entire day of download where I was gnawing at my fingernails worth it. I love that that they left the important things in the air. What needed to be said WAS said. I didn't need it shoved in my face because you can GATHER it. This anime is just WONDERFUL at letting the viewer fill in the blanks when it matters. I love how interactive it is and how all the characters have their personalities shown through cracks rather than it being confronting and obnoxious (unless it's for humourous purposes). I loved the pairing wars at the end, with Kyouya and Haruhi and Tamaki and Haruhi and GOD I have never shipped the main pairings SO HARD before. I just want them all in a happy threesome or even better a happy 7 some where it's just one wonderful crackish orgy all the time. The Hikaru and Kaoru scene. PUMPKINS. GOOD USE OF THEMES.
ALSO, WHY DOES THAT GIRL USE HER BINOCULARS IN THE SHOWER? WHAT IS SHE STARING AT? Oh, my nipples are looking awfully goosebumpy, oh look at those ingrown leg hairs wtf. That's just bizarre.
I love the sense of DRAMA that MAKES this anime, since it TAKES all the cliches and makes them work. It's since topped my favourite main female character ever, and all the side characters. I adore how they do exactly what I wanted to see, drama and theatrics TOPPED BY EVEN BIGGER DRAMA AND THEATRICS with shoujo bubbles and everything. It manages to be romantic but not, and most of all, that bulletproof theme of ETERNAL friendship gets me everytime. I love stories that manage to incorporate the ending song in a way that makes me tear up even after hearing it for 25 episodes. Because this is just. So great.

Fandom: HARRY POTTER x CHARLIE AND THE COCO FACTORY CROSSOVER

Why: Sirius falls beyond the veil right into the grounds of an old chocolate factory. I love the surreality of this fic that FITS the CATCF fandom so well, the fic is brilliantly paced even if the idea is a little cheesy. I love that it's set so far After for CATCF and on the HP side of things, how such a normally wondrous thing has become yet another prison for Sirius. I was pleasantly surprised by this crossover.

Pairing: Emmett (David Hewlett's character) x Brendan Dean (Joe Flanigan's character)
Rating: NC-17
Why: This is another fic I've been waiting for. As soon as I HEARD about Snakes on a Plane I was already thinking, wouldn't it be wonderful if the snake doctor for that movie was Emmett from Boa Vs Python? And this fic delivered, in a small quick cameo crossover to THAT particular genius of a movie, but it also adds one of my favourite OTP-in-any-universe that is the Emmett x Brendan relationship on top. I love that there is plot and characterisation in this satisfyingly long fic. But mostly I rec this for snakes on a plane. Hee.
THIS crossover pic of DBZ/OP/Naruto fills me with nostalgic joy. It's like my three biggest fandoms I've been immersed in, squished together. With Ramen.
That said I really LIKE AnnouncerGuy's stuff because NO ONE does the traditional Dragonball style anymore, by that I mean the old school way, with clean straight line characters, softened through water colour and shading, and looking slightly old and nostalgic. I love the sense of history that these kind og drawings carry. I miss DBZ. I do.
In RL news, THE FLU RIDES AGAIN and YE OLDE immune system has jumped ship, just as the red tide is coming up, swarming the decks like the last moments of a sinking titantic except without the violins. But this is mostly an excuse so I can post This link to truly inspired feminine hygiene products. I would buy this IN A SECOND. And now I shall contemplate this in bed.
