Okay. I've been swayed. Shirota Yuu aka the actor who's going to play Tezuka in LIVE ACTION PRINCE OF TENNIS, possibly IS the hottest man alive. Even looking at him I can tell he's a halfie, but that's the appeal. Sadly, he looks better without his nifty white Tezuka-frames. He has, what I like to call, cock sucker lips. Looking at him is like looking at Gackt and Takuya, it fills me with happy and the reassurance that yes, humanity hasn't failed me completely.
I would also like to say that Tezuka and Ryoma in real life cracks my brain with their infinite ghei, yet making me feel disturbingly pedo for thinking the filthy thoughts. But oh god, Can you blame me? HANDS. sadvsjvfsdjf. PURPLE. SWEATER. It's like somehow, anime has impossibly merged with fandom and real life so that I get Tezuka and Ryoma having a casual date where they take sticker photos and Tezuka wears gay sweaters. YES. OH GOD YES.
I am v.v.v.v. much looking forward to this movie.
Speaking of, anyone heard ANYTHING about a sub of the DEATHNOTE movie yet?
Some POT recs that I'm catching up on since this fandom sometimes catches my eye:
A Lack Thereof by two_if_by_sea
Rating: PG
Pairing: Mostly GEN with Tezuka x Ryoma bits.
Why: Strangely, while most people love this fic for the TezuRyo, I love it for Nanjirou. In fact, this fic would've worked just WITH Nanjirou's bits as a stand alone, except somehow, it comes off better with Ryoma's silent understanding of his own feelings. This is one of those fics that makes me rethink the canon, especially 'certain future events' about Nanjirou that makes everything ring so much sharper. Knowing what I know now, every word hits like a knife, but it still retains the special quality I love about POT fics, that quite, pensive sense of mundaneity and understatement. You're never quite clear about what these characters are feeling since so much of what you do know is recieved through little details, but I like that dawning sense of realisation and putting all these little quirks together to form a personality, a relationship, an idea of who these people are. This is one of the few fics that made me love RYOMA in all his contradictions.
OP: luco_millian has posted another plushie comic! You know. Just saying. It has cookies. And Usopp's pants. And Luffy making a deeply, deeply existential choice between the two. It so is existential. Cookies vs crotch.

That's right people, The Man himself has just bought the rights to make films about flying dragons with Napoleanic Men on them. It's like, my deepest fantasises come true.
And arlo_arleh to your great joy, Ali G has released an ENTIRE MOVIE with his Borat character: "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan." It is wrong of me to want to see this so much, but gah, OFFENSIVE MASTERPIECE.
Also: Soviet Mario! vs Capitalism.
