BTVS x Stargate SG-1 Crossover!

Trick Or Treat by Kei
GEN
Rating: PG-13
Summary: A captive Goa'uld that SG-1 is transporting escapes them and attempts to possess Xander. Unfortunately for Xander, SG-1 sees him spit the parasite back out and takes him into custody to investigate his apparent immunity. Set after the end of Buffy. (But pre Angel season 4-5)
Why: It's hard to find a good crossover, especially one crossing the Buffy and Stargate worlds that could rival Bridges, but this one is a marvel in plot and tension, and strung me along in a marathorn read right up to the end. I love post End of Buffy stories because they carry so much more weight and potential. The initial meeting between the characters of each universe is also cleverly done, leading on to escalating domino-effect consequences the author doesn't shy away from. I love that the emotional fallout isn't squirreled away in order to push the crossover. The process of meeting and greeting takes proper precedence, but it's done with great style and brilliant constructive meshing. It has a great Xander characterisation to boot. A solid, entertaining and riveting read that kept me up waaaay into the early morning stages of the night.

SGA (sort of)

Done and Done by trinityofone
Fandom: First Monday/Boa vs. Python
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Julian/Emmett
Summary: In horror and disaster movies, there was always some uptight, pretentious guy who nobody liked, who died in a humiliating manner while everyone in the audience cheered.
Why: I haven't watched First Monday either, but I've always believed that in the hands of the right author, you can read something without context and still care, and hell I can enjoy the heck out of this fic, just like that. What I love about this is that even though they're technically the same characters, the same faces, this scenario makes it possible for Mckay and Sheppard to go through a complete role reversal. Though most of the love I have comes of having the nice image of David Hewlett in cargo pants flickering through my head. Mmm. Action hero!Hewlett.

You people should stop making me want to rewatch Boa vs Python because that movie is so terrible. Except I want to see it again like a mad, addicted thing.

Things to Love by trinityofone (Can you tell I'm stalking her journal?)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Why: It's fic based upon the "Elevator" and "Pool" Tv promos highlighting once again why I love this fandom. John and Rodney meet up in a bar after their respective adventures (because you KNOW they wouldn't be on earth without their better halves), and much glee ensues. I love the almost meta status of this fic and how all the happy of the hive mind to HAVE those promos is coalesced into this fic. There's just something so special and shiny about it.

HP (Apparantly I'm masochistic and continue to reading in this fandom despite Personal Vows Of Distance):

A Hiding to Nothing by Meri
Pairing: Snape x Harry
Rating: NC-17
Tantalising Quote: "It is the decision of this court that Severus Snape is remanded over to the custody of Harry Potter as an indentured servant for the rest of his life. He will lose all rights and privileges inherent to a member of Wizarding society."
Why: One of the things I hate most about HP fic is when Harry is portrayed as a child, mentally that is, that all his actions scream immaturity and stupidity, I cannot help but wish Voldie would GET ON WITH IT and smack him over dead. This is one of the few where his immaturity doesn't come off as incredibly aggravating, and instead helps to create a dynamic between him and Snape that works particularily well. I like the fact those two start out hating each other, viciously and with no punches drawn, escalating beyond logic or reason. It follows on well from new canon and builds a believeable relationship between the two. Also satisfies one of my fullproof kinks, that is, the simple joy that is smushing Harry Potter into a mattress.
