Everyone seems to be saying goodbye to Lost, so I thought I'd contribute to the celebration of this amazing show that has been a part of my life for so long.
Lost is probably the only show with a big complicated mythology that I just simply watched. I never tried to figure out what it all meant; I was always just happy letting the story reveal itself to me on its terms and in its time. Which is why I haven't been freaking out about the end or getting upset where this season is taking everyone. I don't have any anxiety over like I did with BSG, which is beautiful. And Fandom isn't something I got into with this show because I guess I never felt the need to add to the awesome -- it wasn't lacking anything, it was just always enjoyable to watch and that's all I ever needed to do.
I will be making island cupcakes and watching that ridiculous series retrospect for two hours tonight before the the end (I'll probably have to abandon Twitter while it airs on the East coast), and I'm honestly really happy the show has reached this point still telling the level of stories it did from the beginning.
So here is a fun tribute from possibly the biggest, if not the most famous Lost fan:
Oh show! After all these years, Jack, I think I will still miss you most of all.
