As TV premiere week is coming to a close, I wanted to take this opportunity to prove once and for all that I have absolutely no life. The following is a list of the shows -- new and old, good and bad -- that I watched this week along with some random thoughts, rambly comments, and semi-serious reviews for each. Overall, where some expectations were met and even (surprisingly!) exceded, others fell short, though that too was expected for some. Blahbahdy blah blah blah, major spoilers if you clicky the cut.
Okay, so here we go. Because I'm anal and a dork, I'm going to not only put these shows in chronological order, but I'll also be providing the night aired along with a picture ('cause visual aids are fun). Enjoy, or ignore at will. :D

CHUCK
I loved Chuck. Chuck is a fun, cute dork with well-meaning friends and big problems. Poor guy. But the fun part is how the show seems to happily embrace its out-there premise and just have fun with the action and the dialogue. And JAYNE! In a suit! Being badass! Heee!
I'm going to feel alright investing myself in this one.HEROES
I was really looking forward to Heroes but keeping my expectations low, just in case. David Anders as a drunk, English samurai made my night. Add Hiro and I was grinning like an idiot when they were on screen. Parkman's situation with the little girl was interesting and the Claire stuff was just boring. Nathan broke my heart though. That much scruff/beard over losing Peter and then calling Ma evil and then being an ass to Claire... why did he get to me the most? Overall I was satisfied and am looking forward to the season.JOURNEYMAN
Ahhh, Lucius Vorenus without your accent and your Roman military garb, how I still luff thee. I'll admit that I wasn't paying all that much attention to this show, so I was confused for most of the episode not knowing exactly when he was. I like the Quantum Leap-type premise in that he actually gets to go back to his family and deal with the consequences of losing time. And the whole haunted-by-his-fiance's-death-yet-married-to-his-brother's-former-girlfriend aspect is very interesting. I think this one has some good potential and I really hope it makes it if only for the chance of a Pullo guest appearance!

BONES
Bones continues to amaze me. I watched this show initially for Fat Head Angel, because I'm not really a fan of procedurals, but it's so quirky and witty and fun that it won me over fast. Two years later I was really looking forward to this premiere, and Booth and Brennan did not disappoint. Booth's childlike eagerness to get her out in the field and his pointing out their particular weird dynamic was great to watch. And with everyone talking about how much they missed Zack, I really missed him too (until he came back).
Angela and Hodgins = ADORABLE. The serial murder mystery set-up for the season looks interesting, but I'll be happy as look as they let Booth and Brennan's chemistry keep on sizzling. REAPER
Like Chuck, Reaper embraces its goofiness and let's the whole thing be fun. It may not end up being a must-see for me, but this one will probably survive.

PRIVATE PRACTICE
Hmmm, what to say about this. At least this episode was better than the Grey's episode featuring it. Reasons to keep watching: Kate Walsh is fantastic, Tim Daly is way hotter than he has any right to be (same goes for Taye Diggs), the scene in the store with the counting-tiles lady at the end when they are talking about her son had me in tears. There are outstanding actors on this show, so if they can get some decent material (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) Private Practice will rock.BIONIC WOMAN
Holy frakking hell, if I weren't in love with Katee Sackhoff already... GUH! I couldn't give a rat's ass about whiny, no-personality Jaime Sommers at this point, give me more about bionic!Katee! Seriously, I watched this twice, and on the second viewing I mostly skipped everything but scenes featuring Sarah Corvis. Is it bad that I'd rather know about her backstory ("tell me you love me") than about the actual main character? I'm even interested in her broody ex-trainer/lover dude (why do the haunted guys get to me?). I'm going to keep watching because the show is decent and can get better, but Katee is worth the whole thing by herself. Oh, and rain and smoking and slutty lipstick and eyeliner of evil do wonders for Katee. :DDIRTY SEXY MONEY
LOVED IT. I wasn't terribly interested in this and I expected to get bored and have to turn it off. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. It's like Arrested Development meets Brothers and Sisters. Billy Baldwin FTW! Damn, so much good stuff, so well acted, and the writing ain't half bad either. And I had a momentary freak-out over seeing Trevor St. John (Todd Manning from One Life to Live, for those of you not as shameful as I am to have watched daytime soaps) as the young Dutch George. Heeeeeeee!
Mystery, intrigue, sex, a Baldwin, transvestites, yeah, I'm so there. I'm rooting hard for this one.
And we'll pause here to take a short break, intermission, or what-have-you to indulge in a Trevor St. John mini picspam 'cause he's pretty and bad and fun, and who doesn't love a hot man in aviators?. :D

SMALLVILLE
Okay, I gotta admit, I was super pumped for Smallville this time. Though I was spoiled for some of it (hey, everyone's alive!) I thought Tom Welling did a great job with Bizarro and grief. He has gotten so much better over the years.
Oh man, and Lex! I actually felt bad for him.
Bizarro Clark + Lois + ass grab = SQUEEEEE! Pretty damn hot if you ask me. Horny looks good on Clark.
I'm a die hard Chloe girl, so her stuff was awesome. Her relationship with Clark is central to the show and I'm interested to see how her secret will drive them apart and maybe ultimately bring them closer.
I could go on and on about how much I was impressed with this season opener, but I won't. I'll just say that I have some respect for Lana, I want Kara to actually speak, I'm happy to see Clark stepping up and taking responsibility for himself and his "destiny", and I am truly excited for the direction this season is heading.
GREY'S ANATOMY
Liked it. Didn't love it, but it felt like a good start to me. Izzie telling off her interns made me beam with pride. And damn it, I think I like Lexie. Anybody that can be that good to George is okay by me. Oooohh, and Bailey is made of awesome. Total badass.
Meredith/Derick: don't really care.
George/Izzie: damn it, I know they will kill it, but i like them.
Cold-hearted Christina broke my heart, she always does.
On the whole, looking forward to more.

MOONLIGHT
LAME. Lame lame lame and more lame. Wow, I can't even put into words how silly this show is. It is like Bionic Woman in that it is taking itself way too seriously, but using "My Immortal" at the end and, heaven help them, a Celine Dion song for the promo shots will not win them the audience they want. I'm giving this thing one more chance because I like most of the actors in it, and I'm a softy. I'm the person who could never tell the annoying kid to go away and I'll be nice to the painfully dorky kid who thinks he's cool.
So that's it for this week. There is still next week for some of the stragglers, so you may see me again
